@torshammer
superb R250d PRO, got one too, it is an incredible phone! Something else, what is that white slider phone you have in your collection? Normally it was Nokia to produce slider phones, isn't it?
Something else again: I discovered this:

Cool that someone dedicates a wepage to the old T28s, but I think it is not fair that these people use my pictures to make publicity for the phones they want to sell. I wrote them a mail, they have not shown any reaction yet.

@bucheral The slide phone below is based on a GF788. I dont think it is Ericsson made. Must be someone outside Ericsson that has experimented with a new front side including slide instead of flip. Interesting experiment.

I think it's a third party front, it was not only for Nokia changeable fronts were made
I got this GF768 with a third party front and it's made in some kind of metal, it has to be the first time you see a GF968

Yes, this is aftermarket, now and then something like this appears on the bay.

I have recently got hold of a couple more prototypes.
Two are early T68 protos. One is a famous T68 Sharkfin and the other is a white display frame without external antenna.
The story is that these were the two in the hands of the management team and they decided to go for the one
without external antenna with the votes 6 to 1. The color display T68 was a success, but maybe even the Sharkfin would have made success. Who knows?

hey torshammer! superb, wow! The T68 Sharkfin is a real rarity!
my update is not so impressive, and I know that many of you have them, but I would like to show you anyway my trio from Bang and Olufsen There was I think another phone, the Beocom 9800, but it has nothing to do with Ericsson I suppose, so I am not interested
you know where you can find more pics of them...

@Bucheral Yes, the BO phones are nice. I like the rightmost the most. It was many re-branded versions of the GH337 and GH388. After that it seems like Ericsson stopped with re-brandning beeing a full OEM.

Another interesting prototype is the R380s which is all black. It seems they started there. The business phones were supposed to be black. But as we know there came other colors along; blue, denim, dessert green all very business-like.
Other interesting things are these two:
T28world E and T28s E2. E is for Enviromental. E stands for leadfree and E2 stands for lead and halogen free. Both are from 2001. They were assembled with the environment in mind. This is not long ago just 10 years.

@Torshammer, are T68 proto's working and do they both have the metal frame? |

@Torshammer: some questions too
- The E versions of the T28s / World are a good thing I think, why have I never seen one of them? Haven't they been produced for the mass marked? If not why?
- The black R380 is very interesting, as a huge R380 fan I would like to have one of these too. Does your model work properly?

@103 The T68 sharkfin only say "charging only". The T68 proto has a test software. I cant see what is happening.
@buch The R380 has no life sadly enough. I will do some more testing but for now it is just nice ro look at.
There seems still new protos to discover. Didnt know of the white screen cover T68 proto nor the R380 black.

I don't think they where testing any white,it's just pre production; the plastic hasn't been metal coated yet.
So the phone you have is just unfinished. |

@103 maybe, but it is a painted plastic with white. And that is what the guy said I got it from. Know nothing else. A proto is an unfinished phone so that's correct.
@buch I think there newer phones were all E or E2 and that just didnt market it.

@torshammer: very impressive T68 protos! My favorite one is the sharkfin, I just love it, I'm so jealous
I also managed to get some new additions to my collection, please see the first hint below:
The two grey ones are the protos. As you can see, one of them has T68m printed on the lower side of the fron cover, and has a different shaped volume slider and the color of the antenna cover is also different, a bit brighter, looks nice IMO. It comes with a test sw, which is good for trying out the functions of the phone, such as the vibrator, back light, keys, sim card reader, speaker and the receiver.
The other one must have been something like T68i proto, as it has MMS Trail written under the battery and has a T68i sw. Also interesting, that the manufacturing date is later on this one, than on another released T68m I have.
The T68 is one my favorie ericsson, so I was very happy to get these two
There are others as well, will post them soon. |
