HI Everyone
Thinking of buying the satio next week, but it will probably be from vodafone or O2, will these handsets be branded?
If I go for one will it be easy to unbrand? I used A2 uploader to do my c905 and it was a piece of cake.
if this wasnt possible, I wouldnt mind paying da vinci team to do it, but just want to make sure it is actually possible before i splash out.
thanks |

Vodaphone can't brand S60 if I remember correctly. If they can I have no idea how you unbrand S60. |

Nothing with the usual forum browsing, googling, reading Engadget etc. Are there any specific sites that you want to check?
excellent, no, no specific site... the most important things is that you haven't noticed continuos disconnection when using WiFi...
have you tryed connecting with a WPA key?

My home network drops signal now and then for a few seconds, but that's something it does with both laptops that are on it; not just the Satio. I think it has got something to do with my crappy Belkin router. My work connection however works seamlessly.
Both networks are protected with a WEP key and the Satio connected at the first go. |

As you have guessed, it's problem with your router.
I had D-link 624 router before and it was many bad.
The speed never reached my maximum download speed of 3.8 MB/s when I used WiFi and it dropped the connection way too often.
I changed to a new model of Dlink router and everything works flawless now |

Yes, I really should change it.
Earlier today, it refused to let me connect to my gmail inbox via the S60 messaging client, even though I could connect just fine using HSDPA. Funny thing is, if I opened the browser (Both default and Opera Mini) and opened the gmail page, it connected fine using both WiFi and HSDPA. Checked right now and the problem is gone.
No such issues with the office wifi network, again. |

S60 phones can be Voda branded, well S60v3 phones can, im not sure about S60v5, but unbranding is simple just change the product code using NSS to a local unbranded code then update with NSU, thats how its done on NOKIA S60s, im sure it will be similar with other S60s. I havent seen a branded S60v5 phone though to be honest.

Neither have I. I know loads of people who buy the 5800 from Voda and their phones aren't branded. |

No lag what so ever. I couldn believe it. In seconds it was up a running giving me directions.
Just over 50 miles i used it. Got home no problems and followed my exact speed the whole time and warning me off the speed cameras coming up.
I already love the phone but even more so now. |
