@Micks To belive you or not to belive you. This is the question. Which SE phones record in stereo + video stabilization? (oh my n 70 back in '06 had video stabilization,but we are not talking about nokia here) Certainly you are making lots and lots of claims, any proof to substantiate what you are saying? What is the modul's name and where is it manufactured?

Exactly. This kind of assumption (ie. majority of people don't use video) is why SE is losing marketshare. Technology is something that if provided, people will utilize like HSDPA. SE 'assumed' it wasn't important with the first HSDPA handsets made available a year after the competitors did so. If all mobile manufacturers assumed this, there would be a data technology vacuum as network providers would not adopt it. Now that it's available, more and more people are using it as an everyday solution. And why stereo sound and image stabilizer on a video quality that's not professionally presentable? I still think they're making decisions that'll make them sink even worse. Hope Komiyama San will truly make a difference because God knows they need it.

While vga would be nice, and IMO should be standard even though I pretty much never use the video on my phone. The fact that SE has thrown a CCD sensor in the c905 is HUGE!(If it is true) And for my uses more than makes up for lack of vga recording. Throw in xenon flash and a photolight for torch and video recording and you have my perfect phone. Fact is some people will never be pleased whether it be the brand or the lack of this or that.....they'll always find something wrong.

@eddie
I'm fully aware that SE can't please everyone but let's not complicate things and stick to just vga 30fps rec because it's the only thing missing from this premium IMAGING phone. The ol' 'you can't please everyone' argument can be used for any other gripes, just not this one because it's righful, appropriate and long overdue

I agree with EddieAdams - why do you buy a Cyber-shot product, in General?
For the IMAGING quality - why do you buy a HandyCam product?
For the Superior VIDEO capabilities, sure most Cyber-shot cameras record at 640x480 VGA - but be happy that the C905 has respectable imaging traits..

I'm sorry but thats not how it works in the mobile market. Here you gotta have both kick ass video and audio.

Me too, im not really into video recording. Still photo it is. My sister has N82 which can do VGA, but i never saw her do video recording. She's too, just a happy snapper. Admit or not it's the least feature that's being used. |

Hi there,
Guys, your blowing the whole video thing out of proportion. SE just didn't regard video rec. feature as a whole and sole trendy thing. They were catering more to imagery and audio, not to video.
With the N95 becoming successful they saw all the things that people wanted and thus that fone became a success and so you have the C905 which has everything the N95 has except for 2 things, VGA rec. and stereo speakers otherwise it is it's equal.
Next yr the video rec. capabilities will be updated, as like I said this yr's models are based on the philosophy of Miles Flint. Wait for next yr's portfolio to see what they do.
And please keep in mind that C905 is a cyber-shot fone, so for still imagery and not video, but since there has been a growing market trend for video as well, and for the past 2 yrs it has been growing as before that no one was interested in video rec. all that much so now SE will surely follow the market and incorporate video rec. into there new fones which they now have started to do gradually.
But lets not forget that SE's W900 was the 1st fone to have QVGA video rec. and not even Nokia had it. So give credit where credit is due please.
And don't forget Mid- August there is an announcement for new products so have a look there and you will find 1 fone with VGA rec. and for those who truly want and can't live without VGA rec. I say you should get the new P series fone. As it would suit your taste buds nicely.
For me I'm happy with C905, even if it rec's at a plantry QVGA resolution but heck I can always edit the clips to VGA res. ...

Well, some of the beta units can capture video in VGA. I can't see the problem in just adding it to the real firmware.. |

i really must say that the DLNA is the feature who i might bye this phone for (and the camera of course). C905 must be the very first phone with DLNA, (yes).
just freaking awesome with a networking protocol who you can use to stream media between compatible devices, for example; Windows Vista PC and Playstation 3, etc, etc.... great stuff !
edit. i spok to technical support about C905 sensor, they wouldnt say so much about, but they told me that the image sensor on C905 will be quite much larger (its of course big from the start because its shoots in huge 3264 x 2448 res. but the point was that took a quite larger sensor this time.
so, now is just the question which one it became ???

@Plankgatan
I think the N95 is DLNA certified, although there are very few if any other phones with this compatability.
