I was wondering: why have SE announced X1 if the hardware is said to be incomplete? I understand the OS issue, but if the hardware wasnt done, its abit random to announce. I'll stop short of saying they shouldve waited for it to be completed before announcing so that they could give full specs etc, but at the time I really wanted to see something new from SE >D. |

I think Sony should do as little as possible to the existing OS or make their own.
This phone just screams out slow and clunky to me. Sony even make their top-end vaio's slow with their pre-installed stuff. |

@PK
PK, about the price of $600-700, is that speculated from present time frame or 2H 2008 time frame? If the price is speculated from this point of time, by the time the phone comes out, the price will be at a more suitable range. I would say $549-$599. I heard that for SE's marketing to launch some phones later is not only to be able to drop the price, but they could also have a duo(wiell I did know from your previous post that Microsoft is the main factor of the delay).
In this case, if Pnext does announce some time in mid-year, and sell in Q3 or Q4, then it'll be a duo with X1. Just by thinking of this makes me smile |

its gonna be more than 700$ ! i mean w960i was 600$, then X1 has to be 700+!
@tigershark
yeah, me too thinking about that, but so far, the leaked wm7 pics n their concepts seemed to be much bettr, but time will only tell...

PK any more news on the P5? That is what alot of us were waiting for, after all. So, most importantly, any indication on when it may be released? Much appreciated! |

While the X1 looks stunning, it's wow effect is starting to wear off on me when we start talking about the features it offers, I can't imagine how much more it'll wear off by the time it reaches the shelves. I'm not really the type who wants more in the specs like megapixels or RAM so long that it's enough to do the job. I'm more interested about new, significant things a device can offer. It has been a while since SE has had that effect on me and I have to say it's still a miss with this one. For instance, Samsung D880 just came out with a dual active GSM in one phone, and how Nokia is revolutionizing television in mobile phones. I'll probably still get the X1 since I think it would serve all my needs, but when is SE going start being innovative again?
