thats it flintolino you have answered your own question..

9.90 has this thing with macromode ALL THE TIME.. get me? even on normal shots... and of course in night mode too.

while version 9.91 shuts this feature off and turns the macro rightfully within macro mode... get me?

ciao!

So this means that it is better to keep macro mode all the time except for night shots?

I'm here to correct your statement...V9.90 doesnt have macro mode at "ON" mode all the time...and the nightmode has SPOT-PHOTOMETRY...so to adapt to what ever brightness it has in the centre picture...the darker it is,the camera will auto adapt it to make it brighter...the brighter it is,it will the darken it automatically,so basically the limelight will only be in the center...its all in the center of the picture for SPOT-PHOTOMETRY...other than that,in normal mode it will NOT behave this way....

Difference between v9.90 and v9.91 is the SPOT-PHOTOMETRY..dats all in my testing dat i found out....hope you have a better understanding of it now...

So how is the picture quality of v5.6 only with ample light and macro mode without nitemode or led light...

Hehe,nice picture rite?A picture will tell a thousand words

To be exact,v5.6 is having picture quality of 5.3 with working macro and added speed of 9.89 and nite mode of 9.90 and video recording of 9.89...

5.3+bits of 9.89+bits of 9.90=Ver5.6

@Chakme
wow there are so many camdrivers :S

I tried out 6.0, but it was kind of rubbish as it was way too grainy and colour wasn't vibrant as compared within the real objects.

What in your opinion is the best out of all the ones you gave me? Which 1 are you using?

@e_erzan

Use ImageShack, you can upload your image but keep the same resolution. Click here Just check the box, "Optimize without resizing".
