New firmware K750i decreases the bit-rate of recorded videos? |

I think its just SE being tight and having buggy software.

D600 records in 352x288, 20fps, 550kbit/s video and 64kbit/s AAC audio. Thats a total bitrate of 620kbit/s !!!
K750 maxes out on approx 215kbit/s 15fps playback in 176x144 and only records in 176x144, 9fps, 80kbit/s video and 12kbit/s AMR audio.
Thats poor S//E !
Truly makes me wonder where the D600 get the cpu power to do this with just a 104mhz ARM9TDMI cpu

Yeah, I have seen recordings from D600 and they are AMAZING! I cant see why K750i shouldnt be able to do that.. at least close to it. I hope the guys at SE knows this too, and do something about it. |

The fact SE have screwed us with the K750i's video recording is bad enough, but couple that with the fact Samsung have a phone with video as good as that just rubs salt into the wound.
Im losing faith in SE rather quickly.

Sounds like this is a huge issue for you, and yeah.. I agree but I am very happy with the rest of the phone. I dont think we can hope for a quality like the D600 video because thats not gonna happen. If so, it would be the biggest jump in fw upgrades ever. |

Out of the two I rather have K750i with Autofocus and macro and very good still camera than the D600 with good video and a worse camera. It seems that no phone can have it all at least I haven't had the ultimate phone yet hopefully the long avaited Sakura will change that but there probably will be one or two things about it that could have been better. I am actually now avaiting the Xcute DV1 and its launch in europe 640x480 video with 30 fps that I call good video quality and 16 milj color screen with 640x240 res. But for now I'm very pleased with my K750 and I'm sure they will fix the bitrate problem in later FW. |

Mine is R1A, still can record videos at maximum 215kbps, 15fps. I'm glad enough and don't plan at all to upgrade the firmware.

It seem the spec is good. But the implementation in many aspects is poor.
@Amras
15 fps ? I have never ever seen a clip recortded with K750 at 15 fps. 10 fps is the highest fps I have seen. Would you like to show as such clip ?

@ Klorin - its only a huge issue for me because SE have taken my K750i which i was perfectly happy with, and crippled part of the phone.
Still picture quality is more important to me, and i admit i dont make videos with my phones all that often, but knowing the phone could do more but no longer can just annoys me no end.
What also annoys me, is that i emailed SE about this 3 days ago, and have not even received a reply - not even one of those automated replies that dance around the subject.
@ Paulino2 - i agree, id rather have the K750i with its better camera and lens cover.
But id disagree with you - phones can have it all, both a great camera and great video recording.
Im not bothered about having videos the same size as the D600's, im happy with the smaller QCIF videos the K750i produces what im not happy with is the terrible quality they're now recorded in.
Since i updated my firmware to R1J (im skipping R1L), i have only made 1 video simply because i find the video option far too CRAP now to bother using.
SE might aswel take the video recording option out of the phone completely IMO

Well said etaab!
I'm sure that you and I and everyone else who is of the same opinion who has either read or posted a comment on this topic would agree, that SE should aim to resolve this matter, sooner rather than later, as the longer it drags on, the more damage they will be doing their reputation in the long run.
This is the first time I have felt driven to post on a forum, so I'm thinking that there has got to be hundreds more people who feel the same, if you would ALL post a few words on here, then maybe someone at SE would start taking our concerns seriously when this thread is brought to their attention. |

@ alex21008 - you're right.
The longer SE leave this matter unresolved, the more annoyed with them i get.

Just now I spoke to SE (39011111) to my surprise it seems they are unaware of this bugs in new FIRMWARE...
I took tech person's phone number and when i informed about the issues(reduced pic & video quality, internet search option) that i came thru, he started asking me how can u know this and that, well instead of working/checking the firmware for settling things up..
Anyway I took an email from him saying i will send the problems in detail. I think its not proper if i give his mobile number here so just giving you the email which he provided.
Here is the email,
questions.in@support.sonyericsson.com
Well guys from INDIA can mail their issues to this address instead of posting thru the contact page in SE, others try to call 39011111 and get the tech phone number and BUG them.
THE MORE PPL BUG SE THE EARLY WE GET A NEW STABILIZED UPDATED FIRMWARE..
