I've had the Z520a for a week now, and have had no issues at all. Only problem, no local stores have any accessories for it, since it uses the K750-style chargers/cable. I had to order a car charger and faceplates online. RF is Excellent. Battery life very good, 3 to 4 days with regular useage.
Here are a few pix taken with it:

Nice car...
But those aren't rims, they're wheels.
BTW is the Z520 some kind of crappy Arima ODM or is it a real-deal SonyEricsson?

It's a "real" SE. The Arima thingies have "Yes/No" buttons and old style GUI. |

Well I'm getting the z520a from my wireless provider, Fido this Saturday.
I was wondering can it use the K750i Themes? I read on another forum that it can but I know the resolution is 176x220 where the k750 is higher than that.
Can anyone that owns one please confirm?
btw this is just an interim phone that will be a backup for long skydiving trips & rock climing trips. When I've saved enough for the k750i then I'll own it, as well as the w810i. |

Yes, you can use K750 themes on the Z520 with no problems at all. I've used several and the Z520 automatically adapts the image to fit its screen. The only thing is that in the external display you don't see any image related to the theme, just a 'generic' screen.
But if you have the Themes Creator program (I do) you can add an image so it also appears on the exterior display, here are some pics pf the K750 matrix theme adapted to the Z520, (notice the 'numbers' also on the ext. screen)
1. Main Display/Keypad.
2. External Display.
3. Light Effects.
4. Clamshell Open.

victorh017; very cool pics indeed! And many thanks for the information.
May I ask another question? Are there any black skins/shells for the z520a/i?
Also I'm looking for a cool case for this phone. |

Thanks! Glad you guys liked my pics.
Well, I've seen the dark blue shells (original ) included with the version released by cingular and mine actually came with the 'sandy gray' ones, the orange shells are the included 'accesory set'.
But I guess on ebay you could find plenty of generic shells in many different colors, including black.

I really liked this phone. Its small size too.
It reminds me of my z600, it looks big now.
I saw some grey sweat covers for the phone they were looking really cool.
Nice picture indeed

Does the z520i support SE Update Service? fIt doesnt seem to be mentioned in the list of phones compatible with the Update Service. I was hoping they would get outa firmware to take care the the camera button problem.

And what is the camera button problem?
Mine seems to be too 'sensitive'... is that what you're taking about?

But it seems to me that is more of a hardware problem. I just got used to it and avoid putting my fingers close to the button.
