Interesting news that the z800i did not appear to drop Bluetooth connection.
Can you list what devices you tried the z800 with?
Any chance you could test it on a ford mobile ease car kit for me? I'd owe you one.

I called Sony Ericsson Call Center last friday and they said that a new firware was out a few days ago, the new one after R1Y.
I have found a thing with JPEG pictures, that the quality is quite bad, haven't you? I dont mwan pictures taken with the camera. I mean pictures trasfered to the fone though wap och cable from a computer. If i convert the jpeg to png on my computer it looks fine in the phone, but the jpeg doesn't. Some people i have spoken too says that the newest firmware fixes this issue, i really hope so. have any of you seen this issue?
PS. A tip:
I think that the external display on the Z800i is to bright by default. but found nowhere to change it. If you go to the service info (by pressing *>*<<*<*) you can find some setting i.e. external display contrast. I changed it by choosing that option, closing the clamshell and then pushin the volume down buton a couple of times. It made a big difference!!

What are you talking about? WHAT 'new' fw? We have already R1AB014 and that one for almost 2 MONTH !!!
So what is the fw YOU are talking about?

And by the way, I did reflash the Z800 with Davinci now and must say, their fw is DIFFERENT !!! Same R1AB014 BUT they do have the PLAYNOW icon on desktop and another SE link (which is carp!!!) in the 'picture' folder.
However, with Davinci one can select the CDA during the flash which is a BIG advantage!!! So one can have a CDA that will be accepted via SEUS too!!!
And now, btw, the bluetooth drops again.... ;-( |

The firmware you have did not go official until about a week ago. That is what they said at Sony Ericsson Call Center.
Btw: I have tried to update the firmware thorugh SE update service. But the client says that it doesn't work. How should i do? Can i do it with the USB cable only? If so, how?

I tried the two pics and the difference is noticeable. There are artifacts on the JPEG because of the compression while PNG files are not compressed. That is great for something like a graphic with not very many colors but for a sceneery, the png file size would be a lot bigger than the jpg. |

Thx, then i know even more that there is mothing wrong with MY phone. 
The png file size is smaller than the jpeg file size...

I'm new to SE phones and 3g so I would appreciate any assistance & sugections you can provide. BTW I think the z800 is an awesome phone. I have a couple of questions:
1. How do you know if you need to update your frim ware?
2. What excatly is firm ware?
3. How do you update the firm ware?
4. What are the benefits if any?
As you can probaly tell i am a not that IT competent.

1. If you have any problems and bugs in your phone you should upgrade to the newest one. The newest one is called R1AB0014. The one before that one is called R1Y005. You can find out which firmware you have by pressing *>*<<*<* on the phone and go to the Service Information. (< = left > = right)
2. It is an upgrade software for the software in the phone. Like service packs is for Microsoft Windows.
3. Either you hand it in to a Sone Ericsson Service Partner, to the place where you bought it (they send it away for upgrader) or you do it voer the internet (doesn't work for me).
4. Benefits are hopefully fewer bugs and maybe some upgraded features.

I bought the V800 last friday and it has installed the R1AF005 which I tried to update via SEUS that says it is the last firmware for my phone.
So R1AF005 IS the latest firmware for Sony Ericsson V800.

I just converted my V800 to a Z800i using TMS but when I turn on the phone I get a configuration error. Any advice?

On the latest TMS Version there is the (Red-Cross) 'Repair/ Reflash Phone EROM'-Button. Use that to revitalize the phone, it is for free. |

Wonder when the new R1AF005 (as mentiones by Anger) will be available on TMS. Hopefully this fixes the very annoying Bluetooth issues that have been plaguing the V800. |

My firmware is R1S025, I tried to update using SEUS and it says I have the latest Firmware. I tried the TMS, but I have the original usb cable, I think it doesnt work. I have 1 credit with TMS. My phone is vodafone V800 802SE, its not locked.
Can anyone give me the instructions that I must follow and what cable I should use.
