it means that if you had initially got a number from ufone and then you decide to change to telenor, then your number will start from 0333 and you will be having telenor. wait for january 2006

Hmmm great facility of jumping from net work to network with your own number. But still to come in many months. So any leaks about warid telecom packages. But real ones not the rumor spreading type. Tele nor miss call alert not working all right for me. Some time works some time not. Regards. Umer

It is learnt through market sources but not confirmed, it is expected that Warid telecom will give free SMS, Rs 2.5 per minute call anywhere in Pakistan including all taxes. Just Rs 300 sim include Rs 250 balance and no 15 days expiry date like Telenor and free home delivery. The most important it will give free calling time during Saturday and Sunday late nights.

Hmmm man. If these rates are for real and they put gprs price some 10 rupee and give some fix monthly price for unlimited gprs use also. Then if others do not follow them in one week. People will buy warid sim and will flush their last sim. But lets see what happens. As when tele nor came it gave no big surprise although many rumors were spread about its packages also. Free sms will also big blow. If they atleast give it. As as far as i know even big companies are not giviing it any where . As they are doing business man. They love you earn money. Regards. Umer.

And free MMS from Telenor to Telenor from now onwards......Try it now if you have it.......0345-5121374

Yah. Man free sms after long time. As in start jazz also had it. But then they start charging. So we are using it from the last day. Sending sms like junk mail. Its awe some. But the net work is having the little delay as its loaded. Some are delivered from 5 to 15 min late. But over all it rocks. Cool thing tele nor. I am in love with you this time. But its a limited time offer. So now when it does thats what i do not know.

Mobile number portability(MNP) prevoiusly discussed by radarblip
MOBILE phone users will find some respite thanks to the proposed introduction of Mobile Number Portability (MNP) for which Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has constituted a supervisory board that plans to implement the scheme by January 2006. A central database administration which will house a database of mobile subscriber number references is being developed to implement this portability facility. MNP, which allows mobile phone users to switch mobile phone operators but retain their existing number, is available in many countries of the world but its proposed arrival in Pakistan was being strongly resisted by two of the largest mobile operators, perhaps because they feared a loss of the market share. However, PTA was not convinced by their arguments and has gone ahead and decided that the facility will be made available next year which it believes will boost fair competition among all mobile phone operators.
This decision is one that will benefit consumers who are already frustrated by the poor service current mobile phone operators are providing. Despite certain mobile phone companies being threatened with severe legal action, not to mention heavy fines, if their quality is not improved, consumers periodically face frequent problems in connectivity, poor network services and other customer-related issues. Many who complain of such problems are hesitant to switch over to another company because they do not want to switch their number, a concern that will no longer apply once MNP comes into force. This will also force mobile phone companies to ensure better service to their customers or face losing their subscribers to better companies. Either way, it seems the customer is in a win-win situation — provided PTA is able to ensure that the implementation of MNP goes through smoothly.

@bilal. Yes man i also think warid launching today. But in news papers no adds today. I i live in hostel here all we have are news papers and this gprs thing . No internet no cable no tv. Great facility man . Thanks for giving us so many details about net work switching thing . They are very help ful. Also some one tell in detail the warid launch and package. Thanks in advance. Telenor Free SMS is Upto 31st May
And Warid have not started selling any connections uptil now but today I searched for its signals at different times, they did not appeared yes the PK-07, they were present till yesterday but disappears today don't know whats the problem whereas the opening ceremony was held on 12 May, I have heard from some friend that they will start connections from 23 May, beside this company is also launching many products other than MOBILE service, uptil now there are many rumors about its tarrif, but its not known its secret........

telenor free sms up till 31 may?? did they announce it officialy or its also a rumor.i cannot send sms to any insta and paktel user from the telenor. To mobilink also sending fails many times. at 0200 (today )am no message is send to any one and no one picking up the help line . so it sucks. all the quality and other things are proving rubbish.
please some one tell that they are able to send sms to insta and paktel from telenor or not |

Don't know whats the problem and no one is attending the helpline.I have same problems with SMS. I have heard from friend that SMS is free upto 31st May.And it is confirmed that Warid will start selling its mobile connections from 23rd May 04:00 PM.They are launching in 28 cities from the first day.Thier main office is in Lahore.The list of the 28 cities are Lahore,Shiekhupura,Kasur,Gujranwala,Sialkut,Hafizabad,Gujrat,Mandi-Bahauddin,Jehlum,Multan,Bahawalpur,Rahimyaarkhan,Muzafrabad,
Faisalabad,Sargodha,Okara,Sahiwal,Islamabad,Rawalpindi,Abbottabad,
Attock,Peshawar,Noshera,Deraismailkhan,Karachi,Haderabad,Sakkhar,
Koitta.Thier GSM code is "0321" and helpline 111-111-321, I will definitely switch to Warid at the first day. Infact they have signed many agreements with different companies on 12 May. Beside mobile services warid is providing LDI/WLL services. Warid has obtained 14 licences for LDI/WLL services and many other companies also obtained licences for WLL today from PTA. There was a total of 106 licences. I have copied about WLL/LDI network from warid website read the detail here........
Warid Telecom was recently awarded a license to operate mobile services in Pakistan for US $291 million. In addition, Warid Telecom also holds a license to operate Long Distance & International (“LDI”) and Wireless Local Loop ("WLL") activities.
The main services being provided under Warid Telecom’s LDI license include:
Management of internationally originated voice and data traffic terminating into Pakistan (International Gateway).
Management of nationally originated voice and data traffic terminating both in Pakistan and Overseas (National Origination).
Data and Value Added Services, such as Corporate Solutions, IP Telephony, VPNs, Data Warehousing, Data Connectivity etc. (Data & VAS).
There are several potential LDI candidates and Warid Telecom foresees intense competition in the market. Warid Telecom’s stated strategy is to provide superior quality of service based on competitive pricing as it believes that ensuring certain key performance indicators is critical. A critical element to Warid Telecom’s strategy is to work with key Strategic Partners to allow Warid Telecom to focus on its core competencies while leveraging its Partner’s strength.
Warid Telecom believes that there are many untapped opportunities and has created a “Pick & Mix” modular format for its partners to evaluate which opportunities they wish to leverage.
(i) International Gateway (Inbound Termination of Minutes by Warid Telecom)
The current PTCL official rate is US18.05c based on an APC rate of US12.05c. There tend to be many hidden additional costs with calls terminating on existing operators along with significant administrative issues. Warid Telecom operates on a transparent basis. The intention is to provide lucrative terms to our Partners based on a cost plus basis to create long term business opportunities.
(ii) Outbound International Termination
Currently all traffic originated by customers in Pakistan is terminated through PTCL to 3rd party international operators. To date this market has severely been stifled as a consequence of excessive pricing and poor quality of service (i.e. individuals cannot get international connectivity at peak hours due to network congestion and pricing to date has come down by 50%). The market has proven to be highly price elastic. Warid Telecom intends to generate and grow this business substantially through its mobile LDI and WLL activities over the next 3 years in conjunction with its partners.
(iii) Nationwide & International Traffic Origination in Pakistan
The Pakistan market is highly entrepreneurial with a large mushroom market. Furthermore, through customer pre-select/select services (e.g. four digit access codes) and Wireless Local Loop, Warid Telecom believes that there is significant customer and O&M market potential for the origination of nationwide and international traffic. Warid Telecom would like to work with companies to create win-win business initiatives. Warid Telecom believes that there are business opportunities in the following areas:
Calling Cards Partners: White labeled or Co-branded Calling Card Platform for which our partners will focus on Sales & Marketing initiatives to create strong local or national calling card distribution networks.
Payphone Operators: Using 4 digit access services Pay Phone Operators will be able to enjoy preferential rates from Warid Telecom.
Corporate and High end user retail market using customer selection / pre-select services.
O&M and Other Agent Partners: O&M agreements and agency terms for wholesale, corporate and retail opportunities providing the end customer with cheaper telephony rates and lucrative returns for Warid Telecom’s O&M partners and agents.
iv) Data & Value Added Services
Warid Telecom will focus on providing the following services to its potential clientele:
IP Telephony
Internet Access
Point to point and point to multi point connectivity such as VPNs or IP VPNs
Disaster recovery, financial transaction verification
It is Warid Telecom’s belief that most companies are underestimating the potential of this market. Already Warid Telecom has approached several large organizations with multi point locations that have shown an interest in this bundled solution.
