Sony Ericsson to offer exciting mobile music - Sony Ericsson to release walkman phones! |

None of these new walkman phones that SE is releasing doesn't have any cameras, correct? Then I think that the idea that SE is using for the Walkman/phone is going to do better than expected. I see it this way. Though it is true that their phones are not going to be any better than a dedicated stand alone MP3 player. But consumers are going to look for a pretty nice mid to high end camera-less phone. A lot of employers now have regulated and no longer allow camera phones on the job. So many folks have been stuck using their older phones while at the job. What better way than to upgrade to a newer phone than get what SE is offering. |

So maybe they'll only have VGA. But isn't it the point that a walkman phone should be at least as good to a regular mp3 player? So all you actually need is memory and some ultra high quality Sony headphones and what else could you ask for? I just hope SE walkmans hit the market real quick and actually be the first, hopefully with a reasonable price |

I don't think I'd be attracted to a new mobile phone without a camera anymore. I hope the walkman-phone will have at least a 1.3 MP camera.
resistance is futile. |

The Nokia QD latest series looks like has an integrated cam already, though it was made more of a gaming-fone . . .

Yeh but what more can they do? I mean the Z800 already has almost unlimited capacity. With Megabass stereo headset and play now what more do they have to offer? Also memory stick pro duo already has up to 1gb available. What more man? |

perhaps - a better player software with better playlist control, faster file transfer between pc and phone, and hopefully an addition of standard stereo output ports.

I must say that I like the sound of, "Multimedia phones and Advanced Multimedia Accessories".
1) If we are to receive good quality headphones with these new handsets then we must be able to answer phone calls with them still, after all, it is still a mobile phone.
2) So if you think of the form-factor of these headphones, will they be similar to the current handsfrees that we use or will they be much better?
3) Will we be able to use cordless headphones? and will these have an attached stick microphone so we could take calls still? Ala Madonna in Vogue
4) Isn't Stereo bluetooth in development at the moment
I can't wait.... |

you're right on the spot goldenface. stereo bluetooth streaming must appear in the mobile phone (walkman mobile phone should i say) industry this year, no later.
this is what i wrote back in november, roughly predicting SE would be focusing on music sooner or later after excelling in imaging:
(from http://www.clubsonyericsson.c[....]or-bluetooth-stereo-headsets/)
This is a prayer for Sony Ericsson and the mobile phone industry and their commitment to consolidate the latter as the all-devices-in-one-in-my-pocket industry. It is unacceptable that the last device to jump into the wireless fashion is the stereo headphones. Everything seems to be wireless but the most annoying cableful accesory of our MP3 players and MP3 mobile phones. Did i just say MP3 players? Well, actually, you now CAN turn your iPod or standard audio player into a bluetooth enabled device with wireless headphones, with the Bluetake BT420 Bluetooth Hi-Fi Sports Headphone Kit. It consists of a dongle that plugs to your player's 3.5mm jack, receives the audio from the player and transmits it to a easily paired couple of wireless headphones! Now for the mobile phone related part of the story, it also has a microphone to answer calls from your in-the-pocket Sony Ericsson, through either the Handsfree or Headset profile. But what if you want to listen to the FM radio or MP3 stored in that K700? Unfortunately no phone is able to transmit other sound than the calls sound because their lack of the Advanced Audio Distribution Bluetooth Profile (A2D). YET. You can still connect the dongle to a P910/P900/P800 using a 3.5 to 2.5mm adaptor, but the revolution will happen when the A2D profile comes in a MP3 enabled mobile phone. And the first mobile phone brand to get this... will be a winner. After leadership in imaging, SE, why not do it into audio?
so yeah, they would totally rock the world if they added the A2D profile to the walkman line and then make bluetooth stereo headphones like this one! fingers crossed...

Exxxxxcellent. It will be good news if that technology is included in the new Walkmans. Lets hope they do take this new A2D technology on board. and let them throw a large array of new bluetooth gear at us.
