I have no experience with edge but gprs for me reaches speeds upto 30kbps late at nights which is frankly quite impressive, now since edge is supposed to be 3x faster i would assume it to reach speeds of 100kbps durin similar conditions. Minimum requirement for broadband is 256kbps and even with the worst of isps and it will def give speeds over 10-15kbps. A 512kps broadband which i believe is max in india goes upto 100kbps as well under ideal conditions. |

I've tried everything.. Reinstalling bluetooth drivers.. Re-entering gprs settings.. Disabling some advanced security options.. But the G symbol in network strength area just starts blinking whenever i attempt to connect 2 the net.. Wap is working perfectly fine.. What exactly is the problem?

Dunno wat the problem is but it has happened to me a couple of times in the past as well...just got solved auto after some time so my guess would be network related problems. Do you not use opera/netfront on phone? |

Govi, 8-9 kbps isn't broadband. It should be above 256k to be called broadband speeds.

Whiz, by the same logic, if you are getting 256kbps, how long will it take for a 5mb download?

I ain't good at math. :-D what i'm saying is, if a company offers broadband services its speeds should be 256k or above. Anything below it isn't broadband. 128 kbps isn't broadband.

That is the theoretical maximum they can offer. It will never reach that high speeds.
