Doc, i think the Lara Croft space-age gun that G17 was talking about is the one on the new poster where Ms Croft is wearing a tight fitting gray suit, and on her tigh holster is the unusually shaped gun. it is not the H&K P-11 that was on the first page of HKpro site lately. (the one on the poster seem to be pointed, like a Luger barrel. not like the P11, which is like a micro-mini gatling gun because of its one bullet-one barrel design)
I'm using that Lara Croft picture on my P800 screen saver now, BTW. |

Yeah, I'm also curious about that gun in the official poster which I'm also using as a backimage for my Tungsten. Looks more like a speargun, but maybe the holster of the p11 looks like that( I'm guessing of course), but then again, the p11 is much shorter than that. The reason I said it was a p11 is because there are stills from the movie where she is seen holding a P11 while wading in the water and dressed in that sexy jumpsuit/wetsuit. I think the pictures can also be seen in HKPro. Oh well, we'll find out when we watch the movie.
Have you been to Nashe already? I was there last sunday when I got my PTT(for the HK) from them, told them that some people are interested in that gun and may drop by. They say they promise that the processing will be fast this time since its in the warehouse already.

have you seen the movie the hunted?
the FBIs who tried to transfer Benicio DelTorro from the county jail to their custody are using our favorite baby.... H&K USP!
....and the guy responsible for the fantastic choreography of knife actions in that movie is a Filipino- Rafael Kayanan. |

Haven't watched it yet, maybe this weekend. There's a general amnesty for loose firearms, but people in my circle are having second thoughts about it, if things go bad next year, the unlucky registrant may have his firearm confiscated. Things are too volatile as it is and a power struggle isn't an impossibility. Good thing about the amnesty is that they're offering registration of high powered firearms on a case to case basis, then again what happens if you don't pass? confiscation... Unappealing....

amnesty for our toys?
yeah i know what you mean by now being undecided on what to do with the unregistered firearms, specially the heavy calibre ones. that's right.... what if they decided they dont want me to have the Barrett .50 (example lang ito, Doc) that i have right now, then they will confiscate it? so its like i just fell into a treacherous trap that simply made me come out in the open, and then they'll cut me down as soon as i am exposed!
bad times still? |

Nice example, i would love to get my hands on a .50 BMG rifle whether it be the Barret .50 or the Armalite AR-50. I really envy the Americans for their freedom to purchase such nice babies.

the Steyr M40 is not on display in Nashe. i wish to inspect or see how good the chamber design is, if ever i decide to get a model chambered as .40-SW. there will be a gunshow this august. hopefully it will be on display there. by then maybe i can finally be able to handle one.
when me and G17 were in the USA last year we weren't able to handle Steyr M40. all we did was go for the bigger ones. wala sa Pilipinas ng mga ganon eh. and so when we got back home... its only when we remembered.... we missed the Steyr M40/M9!
BTW... the full auto Glock-18 is in Terminator-3. |

For some reason(security probably? since their shop is so out of the way) Nashe doesn't really display their guns in the counter, they only do that during gun shows, but they usually show it to you when you ask for it as they keep their guns on the gun vault behind the sales personels table. The last time they showed a .22lr version of the P99 which comes complete with scope,2 barrels, one of which had a fake compensator/barrel weight attachment(with the .22lr low recoil, who needs that) among other accessories and they're selling it for 35K. It would be a nice gun for plinking, but not much else. Saw the terminator3 and the glock 18. My friends here have had their glock 19's and 17's converted to select-fire with a drop in attachment at the rear of the slide that doesn't seem to ruin the gun. Its rate of fire is just too fast that two or three 'burps' will leave you with an empty mag, not really efficient nor accurate but its nice to feel and see such a small gun going full auto. |

I happen to have a AUstyr - this is the Australian Army Variant of the F-88. Very good rifle, managed to get a grouping of under 10 cm at 200 meters. This, of course was while in the prone unsupported position.
Is this a dream or a memory? |

@avatar can't say that I'm familiar with your rifle, in what caliber is it available. In our country you are legally allowed to own rifles only up to .22 WMR in caliber, although most of the rifles they sell here are .22 LR . In special cases they do allow some to license assault rifles and submachine guns. This was brought about by one of our past presidents fear of assassination wherein he even tried to regulate the sale of air rifles.
If you're talking of the steyr AUG variant, you guys are lucky to have that. My only beef with it is that its bullpup design isn't for lefties like me, unless you get one which ejects shells on the other side. For those who are right handed, soldiers complain that its hard to fire it from a right side barricade as the shells bounce from the wall to your face, unless of course you move farther from the wall and expose yourself to enemy fire. The rifle looks really mean though and I would love to handle one. Welcome to this forum mate

Doc, on the AUG, i think there's a way where you just push or make a mechanism to deflect the ejected brass out to which side you want it to, left or right side. |

Looking at the OAKWOOD incident, its really pathetic how our soldiers are armed. The government should really look into their plight and improve their equipment, as well as look into their grievances as they are legitimate and should be taken seriously, although I can't say that I agree with their methodology. On the bright side we did see a sprinkling of M4 carbines, M249's,steyr AUG's(mostly on the officers), an army guy even had a Barrett .50 M82A1cal but this was more of an exception than the rule as most were equiped with obviously vietnam era M-60's, M-16's and M-14's,M2 carbines, Sterling L34A1's not sure but I think some were even carrying WW2 era sten guns, its a good thing that what they lack in equipment is made up for by their extensive fighting experience.
