never thought I'd see this day, randomuser using something other than a Sony. Thats like Ray Donovan trading in his Merc CLA for a Mini Cooper.
Enjoy it! If there's one thing I can say is very true about iOS, it does what it does, damn well.

Well sometimes you're forced to change your likes
As for the 5S, it really is a remarkable change from Xperia and android in general. I never really was much into the "customization and mods" of Android after the first few months. It gets boring eventually.
For the things I do, the 5S does everything flawlessly and there is not even a micro stutter or lag anywhere in the UI or while using any app. It's just smooooooooooooooooth.
The camera is also really impressive in that it opens up really quick and has almost non existent shutter lag. The results are also much more consistent compared to any other Android device.
And the screen with its perfect color calibration is mesmerizing
I have no regrets whatsoever and no major complaints. Looking forward to the Iphone 6 now |

Good choice I think Randomuser.
I admit iOS is very smooth and doesn't seem to slow down or have lags.
I know everyone complains because the camera is only 8MP but Apple have great software and processing on their cameras and obviously the 5S has 1.5 micron pixels as well as f/2.2 lens and very good optics so in some ways I think it takes better pictures than any android phone.
You only have to look at the Phonearena camera comparison between the Z2, S5, LG G2 and 5s, the 5s beat the Z2 in HDR, night shots, panorama and video and more or less matched it for color and detail.
I like the 5S i just wish it had a 4.5" screen then it would be perfect.

Well that's true, Iphone 6 should fix that with its rumored 4.7" display.
As for camera, I do agree. More than the quality its the ease and consistency of the camera that gives it the edge over Android competitors. With Android devices you have lots of settings but cannot be sure you will get the a useable picture every time. On the 5S, its almost guaranteed you are going to get a useable shot no matter what the conditions be.

nice pics, randomuser
I'm also considering 5s, the only thing that really annoys me is 4:3 picture format output (as ALL my pics are in 16:9 for years now), what can I say - hate those black borders when viewing full screen on monitor
Any idea how to change this in 5s? Maybe with some app (as you can't change it in settings).
Cheers,

Absolutely Miki, you need to use the Camera+/Kitcam/ProCam app which saves pictures in 16:9 format.
Additionally these above apps also provide some degree of manual controls.
Still it makes more sense to wait for the Iphone 6 as it will have an even better camera. Apparently 1/2.6" 8 MP sensor with f2.0 lens and OIS

thanks.
Camera-wise, i6 looks appealing no doubts about that, but what bothers me is its potential size (about S3 size judging those spyshots), then I'm already in "android realm". Z1 compact is perfect size for me, anything above is way to large for me (my wife had Z1, now Z2) and if I can't use phone with one hand it's simply not my cup of tea..
That's why I like 5s (keep in mind I still have 808 )
I though OIS was planned for 6s, as some reports say time-frame is too tight for 6 implementation, plus Nokia guru Ari Partinen recently went to Apple so I guess they'll focus on imaging in future (6s/7 whatever called)....
Cheers,
Miki
