@Dups! Still stuck in a limbo with SE are you?
They havent mentioned the term dragontail but their whitepaper likens it to the same screen as used in the Xperia Active, which has been confirmed as using dragontail. |

@se_dude
Not really, this phone was developed around the same time as the Xperia T and it is still a Sony Ericsson. 'True' Sony phones will be the ones coming in the second half of the year, maybe even in the next quarter. I loved the build quality of the Active and if this thing has the same material then I am more in love than I was.
@dibdin
Thanks, I just hope Sony confirms it officially.

power button, camera app, on screen capture button
Touch screen generally doesn't work underwater, I've seen first hand that the Xperia Go can be used with wet fingers but it simply won't work underwater, I strongly doubt the Xperia Z solves this issue.

Water exerts equal pressure across the entire screen so one touch can not be registered underwater.
Btw. if the Z does use dragontail glass, will it be able to survive the battery of tests similar to the ones Xperia Active faced?

Not exactly.If yo have seen the interview with hirai he specificaly mentions the fact that these smartphones are the brainchild of Sony Mobile. I personally feelthat the japan team finalised the design. The takeover was in fruition long before they announced it. So, what you are seeing right now is possibly Sony Mobile at its infancy, |

Reading your puerile response particularly when compared to se_dude's makes me wonder how old are you.
You want to prove me wrong do so.
This phone was first leaked in November which suggests that it was in development long before that.
I suppose you also think the Xperia T (which had the SE liquid logo when first leaked) is a Sony device as well.
@se_dude
I get what you are saying and partly agree with you. I do believe that the last inputs regarding the Z are definitely Sony's but the development was started by Sony Ericsson.

@Karun Amazing news for India. March seems right and I can't wait to grab my hands on Xperia Z.
Xperia Z is no where near SE design. It's truly Sony. I'm very impressed with Sony team with the design of both Z & ZL but I also believe had a lot of capabilities to come out with even better.
T200 -> T68i -> T610 -> K700i -> P910i -> W800i -> P990i -> M600i -> P1-> Nokia E71 -> X1i -> X10 -> Arc S -> Sony Z1 -> Sony Z Ultra -> Sony Z3+ -> iPhone 6 -> iPhone 7 Plus -> iPhone X -> iPhone XS Max |
