I bought an Elm yesterday in silver and it seems a nice phone. The curved back and curved keypad area are a nice touch. Screen is clear although slightly small but its liveable. Only griped I can see is the battery cover might not lock into place over time. |

GSMArena has a full review of the Hazel on their site :

It looks good, basically an Elm with slider format & a bigger screen. Can someone confirm if the Hazel costs more than the Elm in their country and by how much? thanks |

Yes, the Hazel costs a bit more than Elm.
I mentioned the approximate price and difference (here), one month ago in the thread: Hazel - A good phone? just shortly after the release of Hazel.
As for prices, someone asked, at the moment the Hazel can be found at around 205-210, but remember that this is very early, more or less just 4-5 days since release, the price is going down. Last week some online shops started to add prices for Hazel; on Monday (19th) Sony Ericsson added the support pages for the Hazel (manual etc.), removed the little icon Youll be able to get your hands on
and now we're off.
At the moment the Elm is found at around 180 (1=9.62 SEK) or around £155 (£1=11.10 SEK). [...] So, the difference here is, at the moment, around 25-30 Euros.
Both phones have come down a little bit in price, not much, and the difference is slightly smaller, around 20-25 between Elm and Hazel.
(Off topic: still don't know how to link directly to a post, it isn't obvious.) |

Same here in Bulgaria. I think this phone is really well reasonable-priced.
The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand... Mediar's Site |

From what I can gather. In the UK the Hazel will be coming out from June 2010 at a cost of £199.99. Thats a £70 increase over the Elm

I just saw the Hazel for the first time today, and I can't believe how much bigger it is than the Elm. There's no way I would choose the Hazel. |

I think this is my first official post to the ESATO forum and I have found this site very useful having answered many of my past problems and concerns for which I am truely grateful for. So now I feel it's time to throw my 2 cents in.
I recently got my hands on the Sony ericsson Hazel having owned a W800, W850, W760, W705, W995 and now the Hazel. I have to say this model is a great all-rounder for what it is. The Noise Shield and clear voice feature is amazing - I work in a relatively noisy environment and the difference in call quality these features make is unbeliveable. The camera, wifi and gps are more than adequate to do the job and the geotag link in the media view (see all your pics placed on the world map) is an awesome feature (sorry this is new to me).
I like the way it holds in my hand with a simple and classic design pleasing to the eye (I still want to know who authorised those half-moon buttons on the W995!? I just didn't get it). There is an added link in the media tree menu 'media server' that allows you to browse the music, pictures, video etc on your home pc. However, there may be a bug present because even though you can see your pc files on the handset music,pics,video.. you are only able to play the music files while all other files seem to come up with "file not supported" error message when trying to view them which seems silly. Hopefully the new firmware will fix this.
The music playing quality is similar to past models but with the added visual styles that you may have seen in some Hazel reviews. What is interesting is for example when choosing the cassette tape visualisation, when the song is played the you can see the tape collecting from one reel to the other in the natural motion as it would with a real cassette tape. The only hang is the banner that is visible at the top displaying the track and album title, this does not hide but sits there disturbing the visualisation again, hopefully fixed in the next firmware.
All up it's a great model that I will be sticking with for a while. I hope SE doesn't completely do-away with buttoned handsets I maybe old school but buttons give me a sure sign of response with my phones operation. No doubt others will come to know and love the Hazel like I have. A great handset in a class of it's own finally a good job well done SE.

Yes I too find the clear voice feature works well in loud places cos it enhances the voice to very crisp clear sound like talking on a landline. Thing I am finding annoying right now is for some reason so many themes on the Elm just keeps saying not compatible

quite easy mate, just download latest themes creator and select elm as handset then open the themes you want, it will automatically converted it to v.4.9 which Elm use
hope this helps

my aunt bought a pink Elm a few months ago in Jakarta (more affordable BTW rather here in Manila). It was excellent on almost everything!
we tried first the WiFi and I really can't believe how it performs well even if the wireless router is three floors away! It's simply superb!
also tried the camera. it truly gets perfect shots! though sometimes in low light shots, a tiny band of line ruins the photo. otherwise, it's almost par with C901 and N82.
then the media player. it sports the Walkman 4.0 player. wow! but i do have queries. Is it possible to view the album art in now playing? and how to have ClearBass and manual eq?
