Im with bonovox , im also on 02 pay as you, there internet service is poor i ran a speed test and got just over 220kbps on hspda im sure there still caping the speeds also its also not very stable my old k800 on t-mobile had a more stable speedy connection, also the 3g coverage is poor, its great where i live but if leave sittingboure i also leave my 3g signal, t-mobiles 3g coverage was great i had a 3g
signal pretty much everywhere.
I would switch back to t-mobile but my phone is locked & branded would cost about £40 to unlock & debrand il wait until its free to flash my c702. |

Yes. Even though i think their pre pay service is best value i have been thinking of going to Vodafone. Many people say coverage is better and speed is better than 3UK or most other networks. A recent report showed Voda to be fastest and most reliable. Can anyone tell me how good Voda speed is and coverage. |

I was with vodafone once their internet is ok pretty speedy but their 3g coverage wasnt very good and they were pricey
That was a year ago they might have changed since then, 3uk seem very pricy aswell 12p a text
Thats just silly & thats why im not joining 3uk oftherwise id give them ago, t-mobile seem to offer the best service & prices are good aswell. |

Ive just noticed the typo error on the title Daedalus sort it out chuck,
Advise->Advice lmao
btw 3G or 3.5G is very good on Vodafone,
it's fast stable and very reliable.
ive got a Vodafone prepay sim too although ive not sorted out GPRS on it yet normal dial-up works anyway,
Question if I don't use the sim will it be cut off?
I use it mainley in my GX20 as a alarm option,
mindyou the number for it is very easy to remember

Most networks cut off a prepay sim if not used for 6 months. They just think your not using it so they reuse the numbers. I used to have an old friend on Vodafone and her number had 7 zeros in it. Great number. |

I know i have been here before but whats going on with O2 again. Not sure if its related to the iphone with increased data usage but getting connected with O2 lately is at its worst ever. Has anyone else had my problems or is it just me and the 3 masts in my area. Its like everyday now for sometimes upto 2 hours i get no internet connection and an engaged tone. Its like going back to the bad old days of early Vodafone. I remember those old days of Vodafone constantly getting an engaged tone. WHY. It cant be just me can it. I have the best and most solid coverage i could ask for. Help im going mad. My settings have always been the same and i know im doing nothing wrong. The thing is for most of the time i been with O2 its been great. |

Miss UK i have the answer to that one. 2 of my brothers are on Orange and quite often when i get long texts from them i get that *some text missing*. What you need to do is when you recieve the text just stay in the text like when your reading it and it should keep updating itself. I have found that works. Sometimes it takes a min or two. Dont know why but it seems to be a problem with longer text with the 2 networks on GSM1800 i find anyway. So just read the text and stay in it and it should update with the rest of it. |

So O2 are not doing 12 month contracts for upgrades ???
I upgraded in May and kept my £25 500 mins and unlimited texts and that piece of junk K850i I sold as soon as possible.
If they are not doing 12 month contracts on upgrades I will move and take the whole family with me 6 PAYG customers, not that they will be bothered.

Bonovox, when was the last time you had your sim card changed? And have you tried a different phone?

My sim was already a 3G one. I rang customer services they sent me a new one. Still the same problems. Anyway my K800i is an O2 branded silver one and i only had it since June. Never actually had any problems with it except its a little slow with the menus at times. My settings were right selected 3G in menus. It happens quite often now and although i can live with it cos its only so much of the day it happens(not at peak times oddly)it is poor. Things are obviously not what they were im afraid cos this never ever used to happen. I dont want to move networks to be honest but it is driving me nuts at times. I know im not doing anything wrong i know alot about mobiles. |
