I can't withstand a phone with "shit" design as well as "shit" features so both N82 and K850 were not for me instead i'd rather choose W960/P1 or N95 8Gb

this thread will go on forever...but, i still think k850 take better indoor, flash & low light pictures then N82......
ive also seen so many amazing outdoor (k850)pictures with good sharpness and saturation, (from ex, Gerban, darkmagician, brewcaster, myself, etc)..that im so convinced that k850 have the power to take great pics..
when i said that k850 manage low light(ex, cloudy weather) better then N82..i meant this:

(ive seen many low light pics with N82 on Flickr.com, and they have not the same sharpness)
anyway....some people have got k850 with major problems...thats not cool, but i think that if you get a k850 who works like it should, you have a awesome phone with good camera, music player, etc, etc.....
for all people who is worried about photo shop...here is your exif data...he he

I prefer a fone with BOMBASTIC-design . . . and LESS-features . . . after all, a mobile phone is basically used just for - CALLS!

That's a perspective of the early days of mobile phones, now if a phone was still basically meant for CALLS, then why we have smartphones? feature phones and PDA phones

@razec
i on the other prefer "conventional" design like N82 over the "learn-it-all-over-again" keypad of K850 with its stupidly placed nav-pad. And sacrificing the conventional keypad what the K850 gain in design - NOTHING. It is still a as-plain-as-it-gets looking rectangular block.
@plankgatan
No offence. But the pic you posted of K850 looks like sh*t with its noise and blurriness and "extraordinary" color. My N82 can take much better photo than this in low light.

conventional as you call it, but the single most stupidest thing Nokia has even done with that phone is to have a minuscule keypad although the phone dimensions are well suited for having a much better sized keypad. K850 on the other hand is smaller than N82 and since the phone have been blessed with a slightly larger screen the predecessor then the redesigning of keys is sensible since it is almost impossible to put a proper keypad on an almost shrunked space like in K850 to attain the same extent of comfort in typing on the keys and the dpad like the K850 itself. whist N82 has got almost the same dimensions as N73 but has a crumped but decent tactile keypad - and the fact that nokia is targeting the mainstream/high-end multimedia centric market where there are lots of users who are used to a proper keypad to space size ratio.

That's the time that mobile phones will often get banned in some or most countries

and next to it we have the symbian os, with tons of useful applications and the possibility to "create" our own individual fone. so for serious fone users the n82 is a better option. for me k850 is more for a fone for fun, more focussed on the ppl, who prefer the listed features above. nokia is trying to put in one fone the biz aparts ( i mean the apps which support internet calls, office apps etc ) and next to it the multimedia apart aswell ( cam, music etc ) so if sy wanna have both, the nokia is a better option, even i have to admit, that se fun features are a bit more developed ( thx sony ) but look at ovi, internet radio etc nokia gives its best to offer us in the feature "better" n sries, but this takes of course, EVEN they "dare" to launch devices, aslong se is launch "almost" the same devices with more cam mp and music features. i have the feeling, they dont "dare" to risk...

As boba said, I fully agree with him on this, if you would like HIGHLY customizable phone you should go for the N82, if it is only for the cam, go for K850i. I must admit that if camera is the argument for you, K850i IS a right choice due it's price. Being comfy with a phone is really matter of oneself taste. I prefer D-pad over the cheap-felt N95. N82 I do not know so I will restrain of any comment on it.
In my op, even the featurewise, I had N95 and haven't missed any of the feats offered on it when I switched to K850i. There were few 3rd party softwares that I have used but from the financial side I discarded the nostalgic feeling. For EVERY single piece of softvare offered, that is worth your attention, you need to pay. S60 3gen is very security oriented (and highly elaborated aka detailed, complex) so installing cracked software puts the stability and security on stake. Buying the software makes you in a sense, phones slave cause you need to use it for a year, or a fool as myself, when you sell it for a same price as everyone who has a phone with stock settings.... Bah, hope you get my point.... Just my op. Good luck with any solution. |

Typing on the N82 keypad is not worse. Even if it is but still it is no where near as unfriendly as the nav-keys in K850. And I dont even want to mention the upside down logic of the K850 camera cover.
@kenoby

Why you are recommending the worst 5mp is beyond my comprehension. K850 camera is the crappiest of all the 5MP camera. Looking at the "vox populi" survey of gsmarena.com, only 4 voted K850 for best photo compare to 217 for N95. And N82 has the same camera as N95 plus xenon flash which is much more powerful than K850 resulting in N82 producing better night pictures.
