I cant believe it - you get a walkman phone with motion sensor gaming, stereo speakers, inbuilt gps, 3.2 megapixel camera, nice design, great media player and you still complain?!?!
Honestly, this is a good effort from SE, you should be thankful they are moving in the right direction.
I beg to differ. I am not SETTLING, this is why I moved away from SE for now. I am a paying customer and I shouldn't have to settle for anything. SE moving in the right direction is not good enough for me. Its kinda like going to a restaurant and getting something you didn't order. I'm sure the restaurant getting your order wrong but getting closer to it is not going to satisfy anyone. Solution, different restaurant that offers what you want.
I've had it with SE so no good effort kudos to them. Man that sounds disgruntled. Take my $$$ somewhere else. |

i did read some where last night saying that the reason there is no front video call cam is because its an American version being shown (being in Las Vegas and all) though i thought the american phones (some of) were shipping with 3g (or hsdpa)
so maybe that was a mistake?

Or is it the Chinese version?
I remember that yesterday when reading the press release I went to SE's global portfolio and there's only W760c listed, then W760i came later on.

well im fairly certain somethin like that has happened.
most of the mid to high end phones from this year will come with hsdpa, so again, im certain its no mistake. there will be a video call cam!

If that so, i.e., the W760 we've already seen is the non-3G version, where's the front camera supposed to be placed in the 3G version?

........unless have gone for 3g/hsdpa ala m600/w950...... 3g (hsdpa) but no cam? highly doubt it.
@rifqi
im not 100%, only 99.5% on what i said bout hsdpa, but all the a200 platform phones will come with it, so that means mid -high!
(mayne not ALL mids though)

whats the point of putting Bestpic in a fixed focus camera? it would be better without Bestpic as long as auto focus is present!
Too bad, should have placed an AF camera instead. nokia ME 5610 has a good 3.2 AF camera.
well, its just the start of the year. i would like to believe has alot in store under its sleeves

I think SE stopped putting K series camera on W series after W810i. Don't know that this phone possess an audio chip. |

i believe that the lack of AF is a drawback but most of our demanding for AF is not (honestly!!) because of the good effects in picture quality. i think it's more because of we want every thing in our pocket... things that we may even don't use once in a week.!
a non AF camera pictures is very similar to a AF camera in distances greater than 2-3 meters (as our 90% of snapshootings are)
the only difference is the macro shots and that's all (don't forget that it is a walkman)
lacking a LED flash is a bigger drawback.
but hey... how many pictures you take using the Led flash in a week.
keeping in mind that lacking AF means no good photography in close up shots and the only use of a led flash is on close ups. so i think there is a balance between every thing!!!..
but i love to have a led flash to use as a torch... too bad that this hasn't got one. |

what the f**k are you smoking? have you seen the difference between the AF 2.0/3.2 megapixel cameras compared to the ones w/out AF? it's like comparing shit and chocolate pictures. when SE phones have AF, they have macro mode, which means GOOD close-up shots. it's not a matter of having everything in our pockets, but having things people might need to make their experience better. i don't really give a damn about Shake Control as that is just something to show off to people and people might think you're retarded for shaking a phone around. I'd rather have autofocus and led flash for capturing the moment in QUALITY. |

@driftmania
hmm...
do you know anything about marketing..?
you want perfect photographs? there are tons of camera phones out there for you.(with AF and real xenon flash)
you don't like shake control? no one is forcing you to buy a shake controled walkman (or is this better to contact SE and tell them to remove this feature from their phones ??)
your answer is an exact confirmation of my preiouse post:
we want every thing in our pockets.
i used to have K750, W900, K800, P990 and S500... in normal daily photography there is nearly no difference!!
if i want every bit of the scene details then i do it with my digicam or K800i
(i know that it is hard for a W900 user to accept non AF walkmans.. like me. but these are the facts!!)
AND we are talking about a walkman.
and just a tip.. : do not loose your control so easily mate. saying it with the words like f**k or S**t will drastically reduce your post's influence!! |

i'm sorry, but way too many people are in denial that they just let so many flaws go by and make excuses for them. how much more expensive could it POSSIBLY be to add a LED flash and an autofocus lens to the camera? at most 50 dollars. and no more walkman series with autofocus cameras? then what on Earth is the W960i? what is the W610i then? i'm sorry, but ever since SE stopped with the W810i, other manufacturers caught up with their tech. SE have great designs and somewhat innovative new features, but they are forgetting the things a certain group of people, the people that "opened their eyes" that want, quality and bugless features. |

as i said before the lack of for example AF and flash is a drawback for such mid-highend handset.
and if i talk about myself... i will not buy this because i don't need the shake control and i use my phone frequently for photographing and snapshooting.
but it is not all about photography... if it was . so nobody would ever buy a W950i... i am saying it because i saw more than enough ppl around myself who don't care about blade-sharp pics but acceptable ones.
i am not trying to defend SE. don't like their current strategy with the W and K series.
what i said is true about any other brands ( you choose something that well suits you) |
