I dont think it does have 3.5mm jack & also its not quad band as usual..
It would not surprise nor would it disappoint me if the P5 doesn't have a 3.5 jack, but if it's not quadband GSM/EDGE, that would be an inexcusable fault. SE is releasing low- to mid-end phones now with quadband GSM/EDGE (K660, W580, S500, and others). Releasing their flagship device without something their mid-end has would be completely illogical and detrimental.
Also, if the P5 is truely supposed to compete with the latest Nseries entries, quadband is a must.
They did it with the K850 and they can darn well do it with their top-of-the-line model.

I could not agree more. I loved the P910a, but SE has deserted the North American high end market with their latest entries. I honestly don't think that the slight increase in price, brought about by including quadband GSM and tri-band HSDPA radios, would deter anyone already willing to buy this phone. Once you get up above $700 an extra $50-$100 for this feature set will not dissuade me.
If the P5 does not offer these radios I'm afraid SE will have lost me forever. Afterall, out of site of mind, and SE is already fading fast. |

Dr.w: I agree with your agreeing.
A few dollars/pounds/Euros is not going to sway people from buying this phone as the targeted audience is already willing to pay top money.
Also, as a business/allaround phone, people are surely going to need to those extra frequencies when they travel either for business or pleasure. I've been to Europe several times in the past few years and could have really used 900 in my K790 (this was before the N95).
PK: That sounded like guised confirmation in my book. I hope to be impressed/surprised.

I have to join in here and agree. If does not add the 850 I will be gone after coming all the way from the t637,p900,910 and P990. I have never bought those phones used (not that I wouldn't) so I have paid top dollar each time knowing that they were worth it.
With the coming of this P5 I will definitely go after it once it has this. However,as one who has lived in Loma Linda,California,South Miami and the Caribbean I have experienced the need for having a quad band phone. I am currently in Coconut grove and I have no connection because of this 850.
I am tired of paying top dollar and not getting something as simple as quad band.

He teased people about posting pics (like earlier today), and eventually did (along with a review) after he was allowed. He also had a Photoshop of a device similar to the P1 that he showed people, similar to what he showed people today. |

I was referring to their fading from my list of options. If, however, you are implying that the P5 will support North American frequencies, including HSDPA/HSUPA ala the K850, then the trend will indeed have been reversed!

Hell no! This is a highend device! It won't have hsdpa, a large screen or wifi g, it will have such important high end features like everchanging themes and flash themes! Don't forget such nesesaties as a 5mm slim body!
