Yeah but that's not an iPhone specific PAYG Sim.
They are not going to advertise the fact that you can get a PAYG sim are they, they want everyone to sign up to a contract, they will make more money that way. Dogmann has been told on 2 occasions by O2 themselves that there will be a PAYG Sim for iPhone, you are just assuming there isn't because it isn't on the website, a pretty poor reason to believe there isn't one IMO.

there is no such thing as an iphone specific prepay sim card. I have been told this by people who i know who work for O2 customer service as well as one of the retail area managers of O2 that my uncle knows, that there is no such thing as an iphone specific sim,if you want to believe there is one then so be it. its like saying to a kid that santa claus is real lol. sorry kids if u are readin this, but someone had to tell u the truth lol about santa, he aint real lol.

o2 will have the same solution as AT&T in USA where if a customer activates there iphone via itunes and fails the credit check, the customer receives a pre-pay sim that is activated the same way.
Dogmann is absolutely correct

I am not calling him a liar mswallis i am simply saying what I have been told, so in a matter of fact saying that he has been misinformed as far as i am cocerned from the people I know who work at O2.

@mswallis
That's a little strong we all are aware of just how unreliable any information from any Network can be, so i would simply say Mr Miyagi and myself have just been told different things. Which lets face it is more than possible and even likely especially as we are dealing with an as yet unreleased product.
But i most certainly didn't invent the need for a special PAYG iPhone Sim card or pluck the prices out of thin air, i am going to now ring them for a third time and see if i manage to get the same or similiar answers yet again or not.
But quite simply i advise anyone that wants to know one way or the other for themselves ring 02 yourself it's free on 0800 970 8702 and ask the questions and see what answers you get. Actually don't bother as they really have very little information and won't have till much nearer launch was what i have just been told there front line staff at this time seem to have very little information at all.

Hi all,
To be honest having spoken both with 02 and Apple today lets just say i wouldn't take directions from either of them if i was lost. I really do think until the 9th November or maybe a few days earlier it really is just going to have to be a wait and see situation. As no one really seems to know anything for sure. The guy at Apple didn't know if Apple would be selling it with contract or unlocking but thought some resellers may sell it with an unlock code at that point i gave up trying to have a sensible conversation with him and said thanks and bye.

Just found out from an o2 store today that regarding people failing credit checks, that Apple won't allow people to fail credit checks and they will still issue out the handset and contract in conjunction with O2.

How exactly will they do this? the only way to ensure someone won't fail a credit check is to not carry one out in the first place!

So will this only be available on contract like they do with other handsets until the value falls and it's introduced to pay and go?
