Personally i the only thing i don't like in P1 is the keyboard, other then that it looks pretty good. But i'm going to stick with P990 and see what happens next after P1....
I had all the P's before, and now i have the M600, the keyboard is just wonderfull, try it some days and you are used to it, and will be able to typ faster, the P1 will be great, ok inside nothing more special than the now P990 and the M600, i am looking at the Zenum www.zenum.ch have a look ! |

It seems the c variant is usually for china but who knows, the Us might get lucky. |

so glad its got the m600 keyboard! i was worried that the design might not make it onto future phones because the m600 hasn't sold too well. i hope SE have a patent on the keyboard design. |

@gmlens
it's nothing special (specwise) but I must admit it is very elegant
do you know anything about the price?
@mobman

Be honest mate, the P990i has been available for a long time now, it's not Sony Ericsson's fault it's taken you this long to buy one! |

Maybe if the thing had been right from day one people would not have held back before commiting large sums of their hard earned cash! just a thought
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot. |

I will absolutly get it on the release day! Lucky me to live in Sweden where they often are released first Can't say anything bad about the release time either. Q3 is perfect, just when I will have got money from my summer work

I think yes it is just a small step for se to put right with this phone with what the p990i should have been about but got there timing wrong.
By the looks of it we're not going to have a phone from SE or shall i say a p-series from SE with pretty much the same hardware specs as th n95 for at least half a year i predict Q4 which is very unlikely or Q1 -Q2 of 2008. By this time nokia would have hammered that spec and move a bar higher.
SE should have hit big with the P1i but at least its the best p-series to date.
This smartphone with X-series gold on three would be the bomb! I'm praying three UK will be the first to snap up this lovely phone! |

The slimmer form factor and increased RAM are really nice, but otherwise the P1 doesn't add anything meaningful to P990i spec. It really does appear to be more like an M600 with a camera, rather than a replacement for the P990i.
And it looks like a big step back for the user interface -- no more flip with the possibility of using the phone one-handed with the flip closed. And no more four-way navigation button which is such a great thing on the P990i.
I'll likely pass on that one now that my P990i is FINALLY stable and fast after the last firmware update. After all the incredible frustration with the P990i bugs is finally over, I'm now starting to discover that the P990i is really great in a lot of ways. Why don't they re-release the P990i as a P991i and incorporate the increased RAM and slightly better camera? They'd get more mileage out of it then -- I'd buy one for sure and just wait for a much better one (P1000?) with GPS and 3.5G data.
I second the comments about EDGE -- there are still plenty of places which have not yet implemented 3G and it's bad not to have EDGE.
