That's not true. I timed it.

b4 update ..... 1 minute aprox
after update ... 1 minute aprox

no difference in start-up speed.

I start the stopwatch when the phone first vibrates( when the power button is pressed ) and stop the clock when the network provider name appears on the screen.

and i agree with fixfox, boot time is the same that with R4A13...the big jump was between R3B and R4A

Tail...much faster??? I did notice between R3B and R4A...right now it seems more or less the same

How about normal free RAM, what values are you getting???

@londonlad123 Now with lots of apps opened & 1.5MB of memory left, the phone doesn't crash and/or closes the other apps. Really gr8.

my free space on "C" went from 10mb to 40mb??? How is that possible? I did a complete restore after the update so I know all of my apps / data are back on the phone.

Hi Sorry,
To butt in here but can someone confirm it really takes approx 1minute to boot up? to being usable. As with the latest upgrade i was actually considering trying a P990 out but find this alarming, also how long does it take for Calendar or messages to open once clicked on? your help and views would be greatly appreciated.

I timed my startup time to be at 1 min and 13 secs.
calendar and messages 4 ish secs.

just upgraded . and right away formatted the internal disk to get rid of those languages and other junks .
after installation of tweakspeaks and swiss manager pro . menus are supercrazy fast now . feel like 2 Gb RAM with PC .
othrthan tht media player opens now slightly fast.
