I think we should concern more about updates. It's a fact that there is a new firmware, but we should know what it brings.
Business card scanner seems to work better. Menus are faster.
People that didn't updated their phone should do some tests regarding camera, because I think it's improved. Take photos and videos with the old firmware and then take the same photos and videos with the new firmware. |

So are you saying that this wont get new FW? Or just not straight away?
Finally, how would I know when the branded FW update would be issued?

I'm under R7 and I have no problem to open a link (except when it's too big for being opened all together with the messenger...
But except that I often open link .doc or .xls without any problem  )

Dang the browser is so fast now, specially at rendering pages with lots and lots of thumbnails. Also, the selection color is darker, and scrolling is faster. |

Oh, joyful! I've noticed one thing that doesn't work with R9EA001... Neither SM Pro or BootMan will do autostarts.

u know what! I will live with that as along as the FW fixes ALL the OS issues. That we shall see (BTW I am at 12% downloading the phone software. Hee Hee.)
I am sure Lisa will fix this new P990i "feature" on her side.

My sad smiley was a bit too sad compared to myself. The phone is much faster, and manages the RAM much better (as far as I can tell). I can certainly live with the autostart thingie for a while, especially since it doesn't need to be restarted as often as R7 
I don't use BootMan anyway, just installed it to check if it could help SM, but alas, it couldnt. One app to start at boot isn't much hassle..

I’ve been using the phone all day with the new FW. Very impressed overall. A lot faster – especially noticeable when using the browser. There also seems to be an improvement in the memory leakage issue, it still leaks, but they seem to have plugged some holes! Overall though, anyone who can should install this right away I think. |

By the way, wouldn’t it be nice if SE issued some sort of update/ quick guide to any new features in the new firmware? (have they done this and I’m missing it?) I know that the improvements are all mostly under the hood but from reading this thread there seems to be a few minor external changes as well. Anyway, for what we have received let us give thanks! Oh happy day! |

when I attached the phone via USB, and in File Transfer mode it said I should not detach the phone while in this mode. Do I know need to switch to phone b4 I take it out from the base ?! |
