Sorry to bust your bubble!
I work for a very large cell phone company in the U.S. My job is to fix phones with software and hardware problems. We have phones of all brands, such as: motorola, siemens, nokia, samsung, and Sonyericsson. To be honest with you I get way more nokias in my tech box than any other brand because of thier cheap parts, I even have alot of the 'new' 6500 series in my box. Speaking of 'new', it's about time nokia came out with a new line of phones, they've been using the same phone since 1998. Same feature and same button format. Sonyericsson is a much more high quality phone than nokia, with innovated features and accessories. Just fyi ericsson invented bluetooth! What has nokia invented? My point exactly! Nokia hasn't even implemented it into thier phones yet! Bluetooth isn't just a wireless headset it opens up a whole new door for other applications. Feel sorry for Nokia, not for Sonyericsson! Nokia better start putting other features in thier phones other than just calanders, or bye bye nokia! |

@SE FEVER, i can tell you've got some sort of fever, because you're obviously not thinking clearly. So ericsson invented bluetooth, good for them! Nokia has got bluetooth in some of their handsets too(8910, 6310i, 7650-not audio and some of their upcoming models), and why would they have implemented it in more models... After all it's not that big yet and most people don't even know what it is. And let me ask you this; who came up with sms, t9, picture messages, downloadable ringtones etc.? Features which truly revolutionized the mobile industry? We may think that this is all kids stuff, but that doesn't change the fact that lots of people enjoy it. Who was the first to make a phone with integrated camera? Have se even announced a 3g phone yet? I think se have surfed the t68 wave long enough now, what else have they got? I think nokia have set a lot of standards for the mobile phone industry, and se set a new standard with the t68, but the industry doesn't end there, it keeps going and if se wanna keep up they better change their strategy when it comes to marketing, developing and not to forget releasing.

Ahhhh, ye old arguments, how fun.
RAVEN:
Aye Nokia has gotten bluetooth in a few of their phones, but the only one they got it truly working properly is the 7650, which uses a Symbian OS. And even then they couldnt enable the headset profile. The other Bluetooth phones I have tried from them usually reboot or perform strangely when I activated it. When it comes to hardware and software, I honestly think most Nokias these days are pretty unexciting.
Nokia DID NOT invent SMS(its part of the friggin GSM standard), it DID NOT invent T9(Tegic did). It did however invent Picture Messaging, which is what made them big. Nokia WAS NOT first with integrated camera, hell even the a Swedish phone maker who makes rubberized phones was out before them, and ASIA too.
You are very fond of mentioning the 3G phone that Nokia has released, that supports 3G and old GSM, well have you read up on current events? Nokia is unable to meet their 3G network deal commitments with Singapore, cause they cannot deal with the roaming. Believe me when I say the 3G phone Nokia has released might not see the light of day. They are having serious problems with their 3G technology. Nokia is and will forever be a PR company first and foremost. I do not understand the standards you talk so fondly about. The last time Nokia set a standard with a phone it was with the 6110, 5110 and 3210. Everything after that has pretty much built on these models. They are about as innovative now as my left shoe.

Enjoy your 7650 Raven. I hope you soon will be able to go to a web site with forums devoted to it, like we SonyEricsson owners are able to here on Esato. Funny thing such a site does not exist, seeing as how Nokia is the worlds biggest phone Brand.........

i dont agree with you on that the 7650 is the only nokia to work perfectly with Bt, well i have a nokia 8910, and it works alot better than the t68i does with bT.

It works a lot better? How excactly?
Has it solved the problems from the earlier Nokia mobiles(I havent tried 8910, sorry) where the pairing process had to be done withing 2 seconds to be successfull? And there is no sudden rebooting when activating it?
And where does the T68 have a problem with BT? It has worked fine for me so far at least.

I dont have to connect the headset immediatly, work perfectly, and the problems i experienced with the t68i was call being dropped, and very poor quality at times.unlick the Nokia 8910

Ah.
Glad to know they got those problems sorted out. Thats the main benifit with bluetooth, you no longer need manufact. specific equipment for your mobile. No data cable, use bluetooth adapter, use bluetooth handsfree instead of normal handsfree etc etc.
Makes it a lot easier changing brands.

@knut g, your full of it as usual i see. My point was that that nokia set the standards when it comes to sms, picture messaging, ring tones etc. And of course everyone knows that some parts of asia is light years beyond the rest of the world wyido it comes to technology, but their handsets doesn't work in other parts of the world. Thats why we don't even bother discussing them here. Don't even start your bullshit about myself or other nokia owners belonging to this forum you fu@king prick! I have donated hard earned cash to this site, have you? And for your information i am a member of three major nokia forums too. You might wanna check them out, maybe you'll actually learn something! I'll post the links later if you're interested.
