OK
Gently place the phone face down on a towel on a hard work top.
Grip the sides of the phone with thumb and fore finger.
With free hand put a degree of pressure in the middle of the battery cover about 5 to 8 mm below the top of the cover.
Whilst maintaining the pressure pull the battery cover down.
That should do the trick |

when you finally get the cover off you'll see why it's a pain - there are
2 spring like clips about half way down as well as the ones where the
battery cover meets the back cover !!
I finally got mine to come off regularly by using the heel of my palm and
a left to right rocking motion whilst it's lying on a lens cloth - this seems
to release the top clips as well as the side ones

I'm not talking specifically about the OS. On the W550i and probably other Sony Erricsons, there are Themes that change the whole layout of the menu's. I was saying is there a theme similar to that, that anyone knows of, or is there anyone on here that can edit/create themes. Because on the film, it looks very simple. I'm looking for a black/silver theme basically, that gives the menu a new look, it doesn't have to necessarily be an OS, just one of the themes that changes the menu from the colourful Erricson style?
Zack.

I'VE DONE IT
I went to the o2 shop and the guy said he couldn't do it without damaging the phone and said the battery wasn't in flat and was pressing against it.
So i came home and tried with the jam jar opener, it took some doing but it WORKED!!!
YAY!

@zack - I don't believe that FAR can handle CID49 so you can't change
the menu that way. Also K800i's don't support FlashLite so we can't
use those either

No not at all it is perfect, how about that hey lol. I used a rubber cup shaped bottle/jar opener, it wasn't metal. You know like you get from the betterware catalogue. My nan has it as she finds it hard to open things.

For this stupidness, I say that you ask, no DEMAND for you phone to be ...
1) Shipped Express at NO charge.
2) a Discount on your account for using a lesser phone on the network and not being able to use full functions because your upgrade hasnt arrived as ordered TWICE
3) Have them provide you with internal tacking number. Demand a manager get involve to ENSURE that your correct K800i Bond gets delivered in working condition.
4) In case a 3rd time that it doesnt arrive then it should be discounted in price, especially if it becomes out of stock before they can ship to you as its THEIR fault for all the frollicking they've been doing.
Just a few thoughts to help out.
