I have an issue in that I have never once managed to get my 1gb M2 card to show up on the PC.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling PC suite (currently uninstalled, cos it sucks and didn't fix the problem) and it's still the same.

Some of the times I've tried it I don't even get the phone's internal memory to show up, but no matter what I try, I can't get the memory stick to show in "My Computer".

I think the problem might be that when I first plugged the phone in, I just whizzed through the driver installation, letting it "install the hardware automatically", so now it's still using some of the drivers that XP will have downloaded automatically.

I've tried uninstalling all of the devices marked "Sony Ericsson" through device manager, but that doesn't help. At the moment, the only way to transfer files to the memory stick is to send them to the phone memory and then move them to the memory stick using the phone, which isn't very practical.

Anyone got any ideas?

Hi Guys

Im New here but i got an Orange Branded K800i. I have seen that there have been no orange users posting so i thought i would give you some information.

Firmware Version: R1CB001

CDA: CDA102511/47

Quick Review: So far so good. Not had any problems that other users have had with the RSS or anything. There are a few things, however, that orange have removed in their customisation. Firstly, like vodafone, they have removed the update service. Secondly, they have removed the photo blogging function. I havent heard any comments on this so far so i don't know what it performs like. I was contemplating debranding it but i havent got any major issues with the orange branding at present.

unfortunately, it doesn't entirely work here. I've installed the latest version of opera mini on my SE k800i, however, i've come across a strange problem. If you google for a site from the homepage when you start opera mini you can't select yes or no for the application to access the internet, you get asked the question but the yes/no options aren't there so you have to go to a bookmarked page first as the yes/no option shows up fine for that.

Any suggestions?

I also encountered this bug. There's an easy workaround, though: after entering and confirming a google search, just press the activity menu key and choose to resume Opera Mini. The Yes/No options will magically appear on the softkey labels, and you can give Opera permission to access the internet.

Thanks Meptik, that works great

From what i can gather, this is a problem with the phone rather than opera mini (that's what the people on the opera mini site say anyway) so hopefully it will be fixed in a firmware update.

The only way to get the blogging function back is to reflash the firmware to the generic using wotan or Davinci. However the orange customization is very stable so i would only recommend flashing if the blogging feature is absolutley essential.

In my box i got a data cable and headphones. I had to purchase a 1gb m2 card extra from ebay for around £40 including postage and vat.

I've noticed a small bug from my use of the last month or so, and that is disappearing key tones. I normally have the "click" but after some time the sound disappears - all other sound events continue though. Having experimented a bit, it seems to occur after an alarm has triggered. I have an MP3 for the alarm tone, but playing the same file via the Media Player doesn't recreate the problem.

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?

Apart from that, I'm really happy with the K800.

Nice to see Phantasm in the forums! I have much admired your work on the Widcomm drivers over the years .

Does anyone report these as bugs to Sony? I've tried to, but all the e-mails i send to the address on their website (questions.gb@support.sonyericsson.com) just come back as undelivered after 48 hours

I found a very annoying bug in my unbranded EU_2 K800i (R1CB001).
When you activate accept calls feature (before you make list of numbers which can call you ofcourse), then when somebody calls you and that number is not on the list, phone ring and vibrate for about 0,5 sec, which is enough to wake me....grrrrrrr.Such thing never happened before with W800, W810, K700 or even T610.Normaly , phone should not make any noise, just inform you that you have missed call, and that function is made for that.I dont know about other people, but this is major bug for me couse I use this function quite often.

No, but if any engineer at SE types 'K800 firmware' (or indeed K750, W800, K700, K750, T610 etc) into google then my firmware overview threads will be the top hit.

I am sure that the firmware developers do know about Esato and do read our firmware comments.

That's true. The developers at Dell often read Aximsite to find out things about the Axim PDA's.
