SPAIN 4 - 0 UKRAINE

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/[....]all/world_cup_2006/4852902.stm

"For just the second time since 1950, 12-times finalists Spain opened their FIFA World Cup campaign with a win. This was a comprehensive and impressive victory against first-timers Ukraine and should fill Luis Aragones's side with confidence. Ukraine's defeat means not one of the teams competing in the FIFA World Cup for the first time has yet managed a win."

TUNISIA 2 - 2 SAUDI ARABIA

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/[....]all/world_cup_2006/4852940.stm

"A point a piece for Tunisia and Saudi Arabia after an exciting encounter which both sides will argue they should have won. Spain's 4-0 victory over Ukraine earlier means both teams will fancy their chances of making the second round."

Yeah I was supporting Poland, it was possible for them the get a goal and they held Germany back very well, shame about the slight break in Polands defence at the end. On the plus side, if Germany do win their group and we (England) win ours, which I'm sure we will, at least we won't have to play them in the 2nd round, I think we could beat them but I'd rather take as few risks as possible and try and get through the World Cup as easily and least nerve racking as possible. Still Ecuador will make fine opponents and probably prove to be tough the overcome, even others do like Brazil who they beat in the qualifying stages.

GERMANY 1 - 0 POLAND

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/[....]all/world_cup_2006/4852960.stm

"Germany left it as late as possible to claim the three points and Poland can count themselves unlucky after holding them at bay for so long as the result matched the score when the teams met in the 1974 FIFA World Cup™ semi-final."

I'm sure that Maradona would have been a great addittion to the Brazil team, however I think his ARGENTINIAN compatriots might have objected

EDIT: Go England!
