did you use a file named EPIUSB.INT to install your W810/other phones when you first connected your phone to your PC? |

I don't think so. I installed the SE PC File Manager program, then downloaded and installed the SEUS, which updated its own files.
I just tried connecting my W810i again and what happens is, I start the SEUS app, go through the options of country and connector-type, then take the battery out of the phone, and remove the SIM, put the battery back in and connect the USB cable, holding down the 'C' button as it says in the instructions.
Nothing at all happens for about a minute and then the phone switches itself on, in File Transfer mode and the PC displays the phone's folders etc, but the SEUS screen remains on the instruction page and eventually just reverts back to its frontpage again.
What's actually supposed to happen?? |

i'm not sure why, but i find that when you manually install your phone when windows detects it instead of having windows install it automatically, the SEUS update works thereafter. i'm not quite sure about the technicality of removing your W810 as a device on your computer and then reinstalling it manually. what i did was to do it over again on another computer. |

Maybe it's not using the USB driver within the SEUS folder and is using a driver from SE PC Suite?
I'm removing PC suite so hopefully it'll ask for a driver again and I can point it to the one in the Update Service folder... |

Right, well, it's become clear that I'm not using the right driver.
However, I cannot uninstall whatever driver the PC is using to access my phone so that it brings up the "Found New Hardware Wizard" to enable me to point it to the right driver.
I've put the correct driver in the Drivers folder on the PC and restarted but SEUS still doesn't see the phone.
How do I get it to try to install the phone again so I can make it use the Update Service driver?? |

look under device manager and then USB:
Connect your phone like you do with seus and see if it says sony ericsson flash driver or something like that. If it's weird if its another name try to reinstall it with the drivers from sony |

Well, I've managed to start all over again using Virtual PC on my Mac, which is extremely slow, but at least I managed to install SEUS with the correct USB Flash driver and successfully got it to check my W810i's software.
It's just about usable but really slow and it'd be much nicer to use it on the PC laptop but I can't get that to reinstall the phone with the correct driver. |

uninstall flash driver in device manager when w810 is connected. Search for new hardware. Balloons will pop up, click them and install the driver u want. |

I have a bug:
When i apply the theme equalizer a new menu should appear (an horizontal menu and not 9 icons in 3 x 3 place. But it doesnt show up, i just get the old 9 icons menu.
Like this:
I have send an email to Sony Ericsson and they will fix this bug in new firmware, but the strange thing is, i have 3 w810i phone's, on 2 of them the theme doesn't show up, but on 1 it does, i really don't know why that is so. The theme could not find eq.swf (what's in theme.xml of the theme).
If anyone got this error please report, so i can send it to Sony Ericsson again.
I have made also so compare picture of the w810i versus K750i. It is the same quality but the w810i has beter colors. I have made the pictures at the same time and on the same place.
Taken with the K750i:

The most annoying thing with this "walkman phone" is the SOUND!
They've got a lot of guts to call this a music phone, when there is a clearly audible hissing noise every time you listen to something (No, it's not the mp3-file quality). It's slightly less audible when listening through other headphones, but still, it's really annoying when the original Sony Walkman has superb sound. Please fix this SE, or at least make it less audible.
Another annoying bug is the camera-shutting-down-when-taking-bright-picture-also-with-custom-white-level-bug. Pretty annoying when you try to take a picture of someone, and it just won't take a pic!
The last big thing is the phone not saving shortcuts when changing theme.
Other bugs encountered: battery icon, reception icon and playback icon disappears sometimes at the upper region of the display. Very annoying! |

Thank God i wasn't the only one who noticed the hissing! I got 14 days to change my mind on this thing and im very tempted to do so. I was going to get a 2gb card and use it to replace my iriver, but it seems increasingly less likely. |

Use night mood. The image is much better. Video recording is much worse than the k750i. Very bad in terms of camera and video. BUT the colours of this phone are much better |
