Selfies are for Instagram. A 2 MP front cam is enough for that. Don't take a selfie on a 20 MP camera. |

The extra weight is probably due to the mysterious lens mounting system and/or a better larger lens. S4 Zoom is 200g+. I would expect something looking closer to that than current smartphones from Sony.

No... Sony aren't stupid.. it will be a smartphone with an added camera, not the other way around, which is what the s4 zoom really is. It will be smaller and lighter than the s4 zoom.. they are going after the Nokia portfolio, not the Samsung one. I am sure that Samsung will come up with a proper smartphone camera sometime in the next 12 months or so.
As far as the xenon.. its essential to a camera centric smartphone, and considering their expertise in the area, I would be surprised if they left it out. |

The quick preview buttons were great, but I don't think we'll see them on modern devices because they can be implemented with homescreen shortcuts and widgets.
If honami really is a camera driven device and ignores the mainstream flagship needs in favour of first-class camera performance I would expect there to be some sort of hardware method of camera activation. Be it holding the shutter release button or sliding a lens cover or something similar. I'd also expect the camera to start and be ready to shoot in less than a second, unlike Z which takes an age by comparison to some older models.
I have a dig bick You read that wrong |

Agreed Aurelius, courtesy is important, i hope the moderators understand that if they hope to create a community of sony xperia enthusiasts rather than rebuke new members.
If one does not like one post, one would better just ignore it. Most probably have posted off topic in the past anyway, so no one is in position to criticise others. Besides, complaining about off topic posts is kind of a nonsense as it is itself an off topic post.

Honami sounds to me like all features on it will be stand out - the best of Sony, so I would expect it to be packed with camera centric features and I hope Xenon and an active lens cover are just a couple of them.
I loved the Active lens cover on the C905, it was quick and very easy to boot the camera up.

I think it will not be a problem. SE S003 is water resistant with sliding lens cover |

@goldie
This will make the phone thickens up too 12-13mm,so 5 inch with this thickness will make phone no sense,so the only solution would be less thin in flash department or some new generation flash integrated in the phone.and also rumours says flat back,so where does the flash comes,i guess if we go across rumours, there may not be having any flash,it contradicts in this case.
probably bigger sensor with powerful led?any comments? |

bro we are discussing pros and cons, but to answer you,its not matter of phone keeping in your pocket.fuure phone are thin phones not the fatty phones, people want phone up to 6mm irrespective of size(5inch to 12 inch),so in this case,if there is word xenon flash obviously the phone will be thick, which will not be good show from part of the sony showcasing One Sony High end phone.so probably this also hints us there will be same two smartphones with very thing and thick camera centric phones

I am happy with a thicker phone, even 5 inch, if it means no compromise in the camera department.
But i know people that would not buy it simply because they have smaller hands!
But isn't it supposed to be a smaller footprint model that would be positionned as the iphone competitor?
Could it have a lower camera spec, and hence not the flagship "best of sony", but just beat the iphone at everything the iphone does? Isn't it compatible?

I don't mind about the Honami being, what some believe, supposedly ''thick'' by today's ''modern'' standards. By any means, it will be thinner than my Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro, which my [soon to be] Honami will replace. It will be a huge jump technology-wise from my X10MP to the Honami!
