None taken; the Proteas got exactly what they deserved after a pathetic performance like that. In contrast, all credit to Bangladesh for showing such mature, cunning gameplay, particularly with their spin bowlers.
BTW, nice theme on that 8800 Sirocco LOL, you 'Bad Boy'..or should that be nawtybratt?

I guess it was your individual 'writing' style ie. sentence structures, vocabulary and use of punctuation that used to give it away... sorry, I'm a school teacher. We all have our little trademarks within our forum ramblings and retort, including me.

It's absolutely stunning weather here today... same as yesterday. No cloud in sight and hardly a breath of wind either.
@ HOBBS,
REM...and atheistic stance..you must be listening to REM's 'Losing My Religion' then too...!
REM's iconic 'Automatic For The People' from the early 90's remains their best album, well for me anyway.
I remember Rob Zombie of all people once saying in an interview that he really tried to find something to dislike about the seemingly bohemian, arty-farty REM lead singer Michael Stipe before he actually met him at some music awards, but he was apparently such a nice bloke that he couldn't really find fault and they both got on like a house on fire...
I first heard of REM when they launched 'Losing My Religion' and when The B-52's Kate Pearson teamed up to record Shiny Happy People.

Oh yeah, you guys are bringin back some good memories...R.E.M loved them back in the 90s along with Soundgarden and the Smashing Pumpkins- dunno why they had go break up.
Off topic: Why are sim-free phones still so damn expensive down here? Just checked out elitemobile.co.za and some of the prices they're quoting for new phones from are ridiculous when compared to prices that wanqsta regularly quotes.

@brix, you think cells are expensive here? Go look in Zim. 2 german friends who stayed at my place, just come from there (zimbabwe) and the stories they've toled me are 'trully' unbelievable ! I have visited zim in the '90s and wanted to go there during my 5 week vacation but I've changed my plan. I sincerely hope SA will be better of then zimbabwe after 25 years of 'freedom'

@ da brixsta,
Very nostalgic about music from that period, mhlobo... the whole grunge scene of the early-to-mid 90's with Soundgarden peaking with their Superunknown album (who could forget 'Black Hole Sun'..?!) ...Nirvana's Nevermind...Alice In Chains's Dirt album... Smashing Pumpkins with their Gish, Siamese Dream albums, as well as Mellon Collie (sic) and the Infinite Sadness double album...
And let's not forget Cypress Hill's Black Sunday or Pearl Jam's 'Ten' album...U2's Achtung Baby album was also out, Metallica's iconic black album...Live's phenomenal Throwing Copper album..., Collective Soul...
Hell, even one of my fave mello rap bands, PM Dawn, were in their heyday then...
MC Hammer appeared, SoulIISoul, the list goes on...
What a phenomenal time for music that was...

and the cures-staring at the sea album.one of my faves if not my no.1 album ever.and dont forget the pixies with the awesome doolittle and surfa rosa and kim deals (formerly guitarist for the pixies) starting up the breeders.depeche mode, the cranberries.wow.i could babble on to no end with great albums.those were good times...memory lane for me is a happy lane i would gladly love to wander down again.how times have changed.or maybe its just growing up,having responsibilities and aquiring unwelcomed fears about ones future and security.its a cruel world growing up and having to make a place in the world for yourself.we are becoming ants. |

Oh gee HOBBS, you're gonna have me going on a nostalgic tangent here..
Firstly, The Cure. Staring At The Sea is my second fave Cure album. For me it will always be Disintegration. What an album. My first ever CD.
I'd switch off from lectures or work, press play and the wonderfully dreamy Plainsong, followed by the beautifully haunting 'Pictures of You' would have me in a pseudo state of karma...until the more eerie tracks like Lullaby (brilliant video, do you remember Robert Smith lying on the bed in those striped pyjamas, covered in cobwebs, while the other band members were dressed like zombiefied Napoleonic war uniformed soldiers playing on snaredrums by the window) and Fascination Street played, before the album settled into the dreamy songs again...
Ah, The Pixies. There was hardly a Wednesday 'alternative' music night at some of the places we jolled at where they didn't at least play one Pixies' Doolittle track (usually Debaser, Here Comes Your Man or Monkey Gone To Heaven) or something from the first 3 Violent Femmes albums, before they became more commercialised with stuff like 'American Music'...

...and then Depeche Mode. Hell, the chicks used to dig Dave Gahan. (and Nine Inch Nails's Trent Resnor).
Depeche Mode's 'Violator' and 'Songs Of Faith and Devotion' were out during that period too.
Policy Of Truth and Shake The Disease are probably my fave DM tracks of all time. They even used the songs in some of the last episodes of Miami Vice, together with various other tracks from Genesis etc. The soundtracks in Miami Vice were possibly the best from any TV series IMHO.
BTW, don't bother with last year's movie rehash of Miami Vice; what a load of poefie.
All this music talk..now where's Francois?
