Strange - my UI looks slightly different than some other screenshots....
All of the ON/OFF toggles on my Z2 are just round buttons, on some screens I see those buttons
have also written ON/OFF on them....

There is also apparently a little bug in Calendar (??)
I cannot create Task since no keyboard appears there.

Original

Original

20mpx & 8mpx

20mpx more natural and smooth, 8mpx much better detail.
8mpx pics are really really pleasant.

Where are those artifacts?? Lol.
The 8mpx photo shows how it is including dust particles and this fake green fur structure
and dirt/reflections on the recorder's keys.
There is NO single artifact there.

Eye problems? Computer screen problems?

20mpx photo doesn't have a single artifact either.
Smudge? What smudge? You mean slight loss of sharpness towards the sides on the 20mpx?
That's a bit natural in centered focal.

I just say what I see in the original photos.
I don't know how Esato processed them.

Haha, gotta love the troll desperately waiting for someone to upload a photo so he can criticise it! I wouldn't pay any attention Doministry, he probably had that comment prepared before you even posted!

Let's wait for non biased non Sony fans to comment on the photos because I am not trolling, the pictures just have that typical Sony look and processing issues.

@northmonkey
You're the only biased one here and you don't have the phone LOL

Just for the comparison to be fair:
QX10 photo on full Auto (which is very good on this device).
One or two hours later with a slightly different light..
But you can judge it.

So, IMO Z2 has fantastic abilities in 8mpx in terms of colour, detail etc.
Even with it's little drawbacks.

the 8MP is not in 16:9 aspect ratio? so it's not superior auto mode? or SA can also take 8MP shots in 4:3?

great photos. i don't see those "artifacts" even in the 20 MP photo. must be my screen making z2's photos better than they actually are

They are great indeed especially the 8mpx one.
However 20mpx is still great and a bit more smooth, this may be actually more preferable for some.
Some 20mpx shots look better as a whole (that's the aim) even with slightly less detail.
What counts the most is the whole picture and this works.

8mpx is manual, I've chosen this.
20mpx is only manual without scenes.
8mpx opens all the possibilities.
So you can have for instance Auto in 8mpx (16:9), Manual 8mpx (16:9) and Manual 8mpx (4:3).
I took Manual 8mpx 4:3.
Auto mode actually sucks, I don't use it.
