Be wary of judging the contrast too quickly when first looking at the phone. As it's been reported before the background of the notification bar and on-screen buttons is not completely black but a dark grey. As most people use it as a reference point to judge the blacks their first impression is that the contrast is low.

To judge it correctly fire up Chrome, go to Google Images and search contrast test. Then just open up one of those black/white checkered images and then you'll see the contrast isn't that bad at all. It's just some weird interface decisions.

Or even better, set the homescreen wallpaper to the blue flower on a black background. That is true black. You'll be quite surprised when you see it, I can promise you that.

If the brightness is cranked up to max, then that could explain that pic.

Even a 2500$ TV will look that( or a 25000$ 4K TV) in a completely dark room. LCD can never produce true black in pitch dark room. So comparison against AMOLED is just ridiculous

I see alot of spam here. People just want to make things bad.

I read tons of cr..p about T screen and camera.
And than bought it.

It has better screen than S and the camera too.
However many claimed just the opposite.

So let's not get annoyed by idiocy, Moskow units etc.

We read the reviews and they are pretty clear about everything.

I am happy for you, really, but I saw two different screen at SXTX good and not so good. Both was commercial unit. Yesterday I saw SXZ at showroom here. It was also commercial without prototype sticker. Screen worse than my TX. It's a fact. For a device costing a thousand dollars here it is not what I expecting... Sound. is also pretty low, but it its not a problem for me.
All reviewer said:"pixel density is great, but poor view angles and low contrast." Just read what they wrote. I REALLY HOPE THAT IT WILL BE FIXED, because I'm planned to present it to my wife.

I don't believe it.

And the viewing angles thing is just a f.... crap.
I have enough of complaints like that.
Do you buy thw device to use it or what?
The only way you use it is IN FRONT OF IT and stop this nonsense.

In reverse this phone is durable one.

Who cares about viewing angles. I was more worried about if it had a hole for a strap.

@ Xenia - I'm sure a women will care about ppi and viewing angles/black level etc when she'll see just how sexy the XZ is!...

Hey folks ,sorry if i hurt any one,but we indeed make Sony sales hurt which is not acceptable, let every one sees the phone and later can comment and proceed, however its time to check which sites are giving reviews what are its prose/cons.even though some sites are biased, wait until good reputed sites review, then decide if screen contrast or camera or whatever it is.Untill then wait.

The screen what they have is from a demo phone not a retail phone. every reviewer has a demo phone.
Second, the demo phone show the best color production from all phone, so expect more and better colors in the retail phone.

Front please. With the same settings

BY THE WAY: at this above photo, look AT THE CONTROL onscreen buttons. Do you see that Z has them much brighter than TX?

http://www.gsmarena.com/showp[....]_018.jpg&idReview=820&idPage=3

Contrast ratio:
T: 1894
"Contrast is pretty good for an LCD and colors are very vibrant. The sunlight legibility is quite good as well, as testified by the Xperia T's result in our dedicated test. Find more about the testing routine over here.

Z: 2462
"More disturbingly, the display has rather poor contrast for a flagship unit and not really inspiring colors. As testified by the measurements in our dedicated test it comes nowhere near the standard of its main competitors and it even fared worse than its predecessor."

So we have another bull...hit here. Z has a better contast ratio however it's worse than T... Blahblahblah.

"We've asked Sony to send us another unit so we can double check if this is not some sort of unit-specific issue we are experiencing here. So we'll be able to repeat the test next week and we'll make sure to update you if the results come up different."

Can we stop this sh..t mr Xenia?

P.S. If you look carefully at those similar GSMArena shots you'll see by the skin of the phone's holding person
that T has been shot with a slightly bigger contrast.
