Apologies if this is a dumb question, but on the phonearena review of the w995 I read that you cannot check/read your e-mails via wifi. Is this true? That would make this phone a no-go for me, unfortunately

Sony ericsson are real going all out with the advertisment for the w995, the TV add, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1k_8j_G-a-A the UK version is slightly different with different people running into the phone. There are adds in mags for Play Now Plus with a picture of the W995 and a globe next to it with games icons and musc icons all over it. There is a advert in the train station which is a slideshow of videos and words. SE are advertising it a lot in the CPW with a deticated booklet and big posters and a special stand. Too bad some of the major networks arent intrested in selling it, 02 & Vodafone don't sell it, and Virgin mobile don't either.

I had a play with one of these in Carphone today the assistant had one around his neck. I loved it. Its the nicest Sony Ericsson phone i seen in ages. Feels nice looks beautiful and is quality in every way. I want. I was tempted to strangle the assistant who had it around his neck and steal it lol
Phone?? What phone??

I must say mine was the only one of the four I "touched" that had 0% wobblyinng slider issues. The rest had some wobliness"". Mine is perfectly ok.
That is why I chose the black one in the end.
By the way, now I feel scared to carry it everyday for work and commute...it is so nice....

just got me a silver one. So far I am loving it. about the Mr.wobble... when I slide down to reveal the numeric key, i can feel the wobbliness, but when i close it back, its sturdy. Is that normal? or should I go change the phone?

Is the wobbly slider an issue with the W995 too? I lucked out not getting this issue with my Nokia N85 but this model is PRONE to this. I'm curious if the W995 is subject to this or is this issue at a bare minimum??

Also how are you guys liking this W995?
What applications (J2ME or Flash - is it possible to use Flash only apps, considering Capuchin?) are you all using??

I'm getting REALLY interested into coming back to products after so long.

Can anyone confirm the video recording resolution and frame rate please?

Solid slider unlike N series. Feel expensive at hand.

Not a single glitches since new. Excellent keypad feedback. Very logical messaging conversation system bettered smartphone like BB, Win6 or Symbian.

Fast browser, no hanging unlike g705. SE is making a good come back. Anyone who remember K750/w850 will be pleased with W995

Is there nobody who can quickly test whether they can receive their e-mail (Gmail or similar) via the wifi on their W995? Even in the manual of the phone, it only mentions that you can use the WIFI to browse, nothing about e-mail.

Errr they don't; in UK Voda don't carry it at all as far as I can determine, O2 don't retail it themselves but it is available on O2 through retailers (CPW and Phones 4U) who also list it for Orange and some for Tmobile

Why cant Sony Ericsson sort out wobbly sliders? They start sorting out their quality control finally now bad sliders emerge. Why is it so hard to make a solid slide? Still want this phone though.
