Hardly did anything productive this weekend; there are times when doing sweet f.a. can be quite therapeutic, particularly after a very hectic week at work. Didn't braai on Saturday as we normally do, as I helped my mate Dale get his motorbike in pristine condition before he advertises the thing on eBay and Biketrader later this week. Now watching Casino Royale for the scond time, on DVD with friends.

@ w810iv,
The 5700 has only just been announced, so it'll be a while before we know how it really performs.
The 5700 will thus also only hit the shelves in a good few months' time at the earliest, so if you're prepared to wait...
http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_5700-1936.php
It has 3G, but no video calling facility from what I can see. Apart from the fact that it runs on a great Symbian platform (Series 60), it has a host of other things going for it, including mini USB port, 3.5mm audio jack, 369 MHz CPU...
Check out the specs in the link above. Hope this this helps to some extent.

Taken with my friend Dale's Nokia 6230i. I tell ye, as on the 3230 that I had, Nokia's 1.3mp camera is pretty decent:

Yamaha R6:

Taken with the N73, Wanqmobile in the background:

Dale with his YZF-R6 boney:

The Wanqbike in the background this time, no not the purple n' pink one with training wheels...!

@wanqa, those are some pretty good pictures! Taken with the 6230i, you say? I must say I didn't know a 1.3MP Nokia camera-phone that has been around for a while now could take such good pictures. I'm impressed!

@ deluded: Yup, as stipulated, the first few pics are with a 6230i indeed, the rest with the N73. If you scroll through this thread (before November '06) as well as Jojo's non- SE pic thread, you'll find quite a few decent pics taken with my old Nokia (1.3mp) 3230. Methinks I should upload some of these older ones onto the esato website's photo section, where all the specific cameraphone's photo info is also displayed with each pic that is uploaded.

@ HOBBS,
LOL, he bought the bike out the box in 2001 and wants to get a MPV-type car to cater for his mrs and 3 offspring (the other 2 bambinos are twins), as well as a slightly older but bigger bike (the R6 is a 600cc).
Used cars are bloody cheap here and with his bike being virtually as new, he should manage to get himself 2 decent vehicles once he's sold the R6.
600's are very popular here, due to the much cheaper insurance categories that they fall into compared to their bigger superbike brethren, so demand is actually higher for these in the bigger cities.

About your post count: posts made in the regional threads, garbage thread and non-mobile discussion don't count towards your post count. It'll show on the day, but when you wake up the next morning, you'll be left with the total post count that you have made in any of the other threads.

@wanqa, I had a 3230 before my K750, but I don't recall the camera on it being of any good at all, honestly. I couldn't get any decent pictures and it always took a long time to save the image after I press the capture button. I had to keep my hands steady for a few more seconds after pressing the capture button if I didn't want my pictures to turn out blurred. I do know it's a common problem, not just an isolated case for my phone.

@ deluded,
Mine wasn't immune to the delay either. I'm no technical camera boffin, but wasn't that to allow more time for light to filter through the shutter, thus getting a more decent pic? I did have to do my utmost to keep my hand steady after depressing the button, but perhaps less so in very bright conditions...
With indoor shots, the pics were clearly (and obviously) more granular, but overall I think it did a damn fine job for a 1.3mp camera, and judging from the pics taken with the 6230i yesterday, it seems to quantify this a bit further. Of course it was far from perfect, but I really don't have too much reason to lambast the thing, from my personal experiences.
The pics weren't altered or edited in any way (I would deem myself a cheat then... ), apart from being cropped and resized to make them more forum-friendly.
I'll re-upload some of the better 3230 pics that I took soon.

@wanqa bro, I don't doubt for a second that you've managed to get good pictures with your 3230, as I've seen so many nice pictures from you. I'm just curious cos when I saw some pictures my friend took with his 6670 (1MP camera, if I'm not wrong), they look better than my 3230 ever did. While I can understand that the longer exposure time is to let more light in (like in night-mode), I think the lag time on my 3230 was a bit impractical. Even the night-mode on my K750 doesn't take that long. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing some of your pictures taken with your 3230, just so that I know my 3230 wasn't as bad at taking pictures as I thought. I don't have it with me anymore, sold it when I bought my K750. It served me well, powerful, but a little slow. Heh...

No probz, bro. Yeah, Series 60 is slow..
Here's a few I took with it during the year-and-a-half that I had it:

Troy Corser's WSB championship-winning GSX-R1000 taken at the Alexandra Palace Motorcycle Show in north London, late January 2006:

You can see the slight cam limitations on the carbon fibre ram-air ducts below the screen, but still not bad at all:

Tarted-up Ducati 999 at the same show, laced with carbon fibre and kevlar, magnesium and titanium bits...

One of the local music shops, taken late last year:

Wow... I didn't know the 3230 was capable of such good pictures. I'm almost certain my 3230 had never been able to produce such quality.

OK, here's another 3 from last year with the 3230, taken along London's famous Portobello Road antique market in Notting Hill:
