After looking back at Huiyi's post with all the picture I think that's what he was trying to get at. Can't read Japanese tho, is that link saying the original pic was a fake or...? |

The Togari is just way too big. It's going to have to be the Honami for me.
Check this for the latest on the upcoming Sony phones for 2013: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AreyfktYnDHtdHN0bVFPdUFJd0ZiNzZQcjMwV1I5M0E#gid=0 |

The touch type could just be an advanced, highly sensitive capacitive touch sensor, only difference being it is so sensitive it can pick up the natural electrical properties of graphite (used in the core of pencils).

It's been a while since I've posted, but if there's one thing I'm sure of it's that Sony won't be releasing any smartphones with interchangeable lenses any time soon. They're still just the mobile branch, they're not making a NEX with Android and phone functionality.
Awwwwe, I was looking forward to mounting one of these to my phone
Hopefully all will be revealed on Honami in the next couple of weeks! |

A Sony Phablet?! Disgustingly SICK!!!
Ok but what uniqueness to the phablet or smartphone market will Sony bring?! That would be the key vs just the hardware specs alone considering the N.American (driven by the USA mainly) market is any indication of success (XZ/XZL as any indication).
I'm very curious ... does anyone feel Sony should be venturing into the phablet market? Area for growth is huge, but the perception of viability is pretty much focused on Samsung alone. Actually are they any real players other than samsung??
err...using a normal pencil/pen to write on the phablet is unique and it is not a resistive based screen like the old windows CE,6.1 etc....
unless, there is a phablet that can use normal pen/pencil already. |

I think the original rumour is that a pencil can be used, no mention was made of a pen (or other object other than stylus or skin).

Oh boy I really wanted to see an Android NEX but Samsung has beaten Sony to it, http://blog.gsmarena.com/sams[....]-out-in-press-and-live-images/
sadly it's stupidly ugly and large

lol i doubt that rumor is true. No smartphones nowadays will not have any LED flash... its like that time when Xperia Z was leaked and those videos and pictures only showed the camera. lol

Heard some interesting news from someone who apparently tests Sony products, apparently Sony are looking into introducing certain PlayStation 4 features exclusively to "premium" Sony android products. The tester himself wasn't sure of what "premium" meant, but it is more then likely the Z series of products. He wasn't sure what features could be incorporated either.
If you ask me, Sony should look heavily into introducing Remote Play into top-end Xperia devices. I understand that they want the Vita to be successful, but implementing this tech on Xperia devices will give it a serious advantage over competing devices if the customer has a PS4. There are many interesting use cases I could think of, the customer would obviously use either a DualShock 4 or DualShock 3 (depending on if they implement DS4 tethering) with their mobile phone, but with the MHL cable, you could have a portable PS4 in your pocket at all times, with charging and display on the TV. This feature becomes even more interesting once Miracast is introduced, but with the disadvantage of relying on 4G/3G connection and what I imagine would be monstrous power drain.
I think there would be concern as to whether or not Sony could keep this feature secure and only on their devices however.
2) I don't think those photos 3 pages back were real. I think the goal of those pictures was to show that it was a real pencil in photo #1, and then have the 2nd photo show ''hey look, the pencil totally works on the screen!!!''
If you look at the side by side shot, however, those hearts look identical. It could be that the person draws impeccably lopsided hearts, but I'm fairly sure that's photoshopped....
Opinions?

The idea was that he traced the heart onto the display by drawing through the paper with the pencil, showing the sensitivity of the display to pretty much anything.

I can believe it won't have an LED flash. Tablets tend not to be photo centric, I'd expect phablets to be a middle ground where some have LED flashes where other manufacturers may see it as a compromise feature.
