You are a few months late for election talk right now. The democratic party needs a huge refresher course on organization tactics and grass roots campaigning. If we can't figure that stuff out we will never beat the Republicans in an election, they are just too well organized.

The problem of the NBA players is the following: If I were coach I would tell them: Keep your dicks in check.!

@Res, thats never gonna work. I don't think anyone rich and famous will ever accept that someone knows what is good for them other than themselves. Even if they did accept it, I doubt they would heed the advice.

your are correct, because their egos are so big as well as their head, that they barely fit through the door anymore. See Shaq/Kobe. However, who won the NBA title in 1998? the Chicago bulls. The team won it not an individual. So when a player steps on the field his goal should be asking himself "What can I do this moment to be the greatest asset to the team". Not how do I look good today? If a coach could inspire his players that way there would be tremendous power available. Saying keep your D's in check would be also part of it, because if you screw up like Kobe, then that would be bad for the team.
See the Portland Trail Blazers: They were screwing up big time. It affected the team. they did not make the playoffs and just recently another Mr. smartypants showed up in court for dog fights. Portlanders are fed up with them and they are losing interest. Meaning less revenue you can see where that is going.

you are right about the 98 bulls, but the coach thing just doesn't have any impact because it was the same coach for the 98 Bulls and the Lakers while Kobe and Shaq were playing. Coaches only ever have control of their players while they are on the court. Its up to the owner to keep payers in check or send them packing. If a payer can't figure out theat he will alienate his fans and ruin his team, them I say let him do it and lets forget about him.

I used to love professional sports, but one by one I stop watching them because of missed seasons, scandals, too much trading/expanding. Now I pretty much only watch college sports, which are more exciting anyway.
