if true, then that's a real blow to SE's credibility. They need to be impressing people again with something that can hold it's head high against the iphone and the rest of the competition. As sturdy as the P1 is, it just doesn't have the wow factor, and underneath the hood it's quite dated.
If the P5 is now being shunted onto this time next year (which is what a "later than expected" release appears to mean) then I really fear for SE's presence in the market.

since this thread is a rumor thread everyone can post anything that he imagines and some people are going to believe him.Now i think that pk has been playing with all of us these days.i dont think that he had the device with him.Also,if he had it,he could post us just a spec list i am not talking about photos.Moreover,if he was afraid of se, he could register with a different nickname and even from a different pc and post the spec list.Dont tell me that se was going to bust him cause if the device is in prototype stage there are 100s of people that have seen it not only pk.so that leads me to believe that he was lying not that this is bad.I think its common sense to believe that se is going to release a uiq device that rivals iphone and nokia s60 touch and its going to have specs that are better than p1i ,that is 3.2mp->5mp/umts,wi-fi ->hspda,wi-fi,gps . c'mon people dont always believe what everyone tells u!!!! |

Hi all,
Well to be honest from day one i said these spec's whilst an advancement for SE where going to be very this year rather than up to date. Although i am disappointed that the spec changes means we are unlikely to see the device before this time next year. I really hop that piece of information is wrong and the device still launches May/June 2008 and no later as IMO that is late enough and nearly a year after the P1. Even if they up the spec's i would like to see an announcement January and release shortly after that well we can always hope can't we?.

What the... look, If one looks at the specs of the now announced N82, and that of the (rumored!) specs of the P5i, bigger screen, touch ui, and think of a release in say, June 08.
What does the P5i with its' (rumored!) hold aggainst it? or the N95 8gig?
exactly, not much, as in, the wow-feeling is not just there.
And of course, the N95 8gig is out and N82 in the following week/s
Yes, I am a SE-fangirl, and don't want to switch to Nokia or anyother brand, period!
But is feels silly! Like I'm fighting a loosing battle here, sorry, but looks only don't make me want to buy a phone, and 'looks' is what SE is starting to put all their energy into, and only that.
I don't care for a super slim mini-tini-weeny phone in 25 colors.
Oh well, who cares I guess, and sorry If I annoyed anyone, I just had to get my frustrations out. |

@PK: Because there's going to be a major hardware chnage, it means that the proto you (allegedly?) had will be discarded. I believe it would now be okay for you to post pics of the phone turned off so we don't see the UI, as it won't make it on the shelves in this form.
What do you think?
If you tell me you didn't take any pic while you had it, I'm sorry but that would certainly dent your credibility. |

I think its SE Staff and assigned "Partners" who are testing the hardware.
I can bet there will be no photos of the real phone until its officially announced. I know of 1 case where pictures were published on the web before official announcement by an individual and SE tracked down the person who posted those photos. Needless to say he is no longer working for that partner company. |

It wouldnt surprise me if  make slight cosmetic changes to each of their protoypes, so they know who has what prototype, and can easily track down who has uploaded photos etc.
i welcome the push back of the announcement myself.
if there is problems with the hardware, and they went on to release it, then there would be another massive argument.
i personally don't think it's bad for people are going to buy the phone regardless if Nokia are releasing ahead.

Could you now please stop picking on PeterKay!!! He WILL NOT post any pics of the phone before announcement. How hard can it be to understand?
If you've followed the discussion from the beginning you would know that he's known to speak the truth. He will be fired if he leaks pictures, so just stop! |
