I was looking for a good sharpness and image quality test.
Took a picture of an air conditioner filter. The image is really sharp!

FYI, I have not tested my iSync plugin extensively. Contacts work, but I'm not sure about the calendar. Alternatively there's another free iSync plugin available on Howard forums. |

k850 is the real winner...just look at this lowlight (cloudy) shitty weather pictures......such a good sharpness..(cant understand that some people nagg.... it totally rocks...........
i think the screen is the part i nearly like most....my friend have a N73..(nice screen that to)..but when we compared our screens, k850 was more crispy....
(this new screen technology is realy awesome...it looks like it just glued on the phone...i realy realy hope keep using this screens).
it manage sunshine in a new, better way...(my old phones gets fairly dark when its sunny)

I have also had all those phones and when i look through all pictures i have taken with K750/K800/K810i there are a few really nice ones but the K850is are much better.
I think itīs quite funny to hear all the nagging but i think itīs mainly from people who havenīt got a K850i or havenīt spent some time learning the camera properly.
And things will get even better i guess with future firmware upgrades

The K850i does take good photos, without a shadow of a doubt, but at full resolution the photos are crap. The filtering is too much, and it's only because most images here are reduced that they look so good.
There's an argument that you could just as easily do with a K800i that's as cheap as chips these days! It's only because the phone has many other improvements (or will when the firmware is fixed) that you would buy this instead.

whats the point to nagg about full size pictures ???? who in hell watching their pictures in full size ????? (not me...i print them out, and they looks perfect)...and if you go back in this thread, you find some full size pictures...(they looks realy good...of course its daylight pictures..but hey...what do you expect ????
do you want perfect sharpness in full size all time...buy a Hasselblad

Yes I believe the argument could be make about the k800 daylight photos being as good, mine certantly are..but my indoor and flash photo's are much better. However I don't want to post photo's of my friends using the flash. There are some things that do need to be improved with this phone but there are some nice upgraded feachers that i think makes it worth getting the phone, especially the screen.

Well i think itīs mainly common sense that most of the pictures are resized like the upload here on Esato for a close example. If you look at pictures on your monitor ofcourse you have a "wiewer" who zooms them down so you can see the whole picture instead of just a corner or so..
All pictures you use in real life you resize so you can mail them to your friends or making them web-friendly and so on. I also think very few people on this planet have a monitor that uses a resolution of 2592x1944 pixels and wiews their pictures at 100% all the time
I can agree that i would like to see less "noise" and stuf on the K850i pics when zooming them to 100% and the pictures doesent look so good compared to a "real" digicam. You can buy a "real" digicam today for lets say 125$ that would completely beat all mobile phones on this area..
But in reality and as i use my pictures i just love my K850i and the pictures it produces. They often are a bit "pale" straight out of the cam but the details are there. I quickly fix my pictures and resizes them in a simple photo program and this is no big deal for me. Around 5 seconds for a picture and then i have a picture i can enjoy and email my friends or publish on the web and be happy about. And if you dont know how a photoeditor/program works then my advice is to never buy a digital cam for this is very usefull even if you have a "real" digicam.
Bottom line is, the K850i produces MUCH better pictures than my previous K750/K800/K810. This is so obvious when browsing around all my earlier pictures. Zoomed to 100% maybe some earlier picture contains less noice but as you wiew the pictures in real life this doesent matter. The level of detail is much much better and this is really noticeable. And dont forget that when you look at K850s pictures at 100% you are looking at a much larger picture than K750/K800. They both would be resized smaller when for example printing a photo but the K850s would contain more details.
Other benefits are indoors and during bad lightning, i dont think i got one usable picture from my earlier K750/K800/K810 but now i can use my K850 as a partycam also. Itīs just a matter of not shooting in "Full Auto" and spend some time reading the photo tips here on Esato. I have had "real" digicams before that have done this job much worse than the K850 does.
For what it is the cam is very useful. Ofcourse i didnīt believe that this mobile phone should replace my real digicam but it does the job quite well and i always have it with me in my pocket.
In my eyes the cam in K850i are lightyears better than K750/K800/K810 but itīs still far from a "real" digicam. Ofcourse i canīt recomend people who owns the K800/K810 to spend the money or making an upgrade just for the cam in K850i. You would be better of to hold on to your phones and buy a real digicam to use separately instead. As i said earlier you get a "real" digicam today for around 125$ that will whoop all phones completely. But if you want a much better cam inside your phone and think itīs worth it then the K850i is a nice upgrade. Itīs up to you guys to decide. Just take a look through all pages here of sample pictures and then try to for example take a shot in low lightning.

also for print. printing on A5 will give good result. camera phones are useful when you haven't a proper camera with you(unexpected situations), so if someone wants to print his pictures on A4, A3 ..., he should use a proper camera.

this is exactly what i intended to say, but waited to say someone else. 3MP is enough for a camera phone. if there are 5MP camera phones (and 7MPs next year), it's only because of competition between brands.

If you set ur k850i to timer and leave it on a surface to snap a landscape pic at night without flash, you should be able to get perfect sharpness right?
Can you help do that and post the pic here? I'm curious.
