A real pity that most PAYG handsets are branded and locked to a specific network here, but some of the current prices with the specials are very tempting, even if it may mean paying a bit more to get them unlocked and flashed with generic firmware.
Here's a current example, the Samsung D900 on Orange PAYG on sale at UK chainstore 'Phones4U' for a piffling 99.95 (approximately R1400!)when bought with 10 airtime!! Yhu!

Not sure if you guys heard, but at the launch of the PS3 at the Virgin Megastore in Oxford Street in central London yesterday, the first 120 customers through the doors who bought the console were given a FREE 46" HD TV set plus a free cab ride home to transport the massive-sized TV boxes!
It was a 'reward' for the patience of the fans that had eagerly waited and queued to be some of the first to get the new sought-after console.

Dang... if only I got wind of that 'surprise' freebie...

Glad I never got into gaming. Its quite an expensive hobby. To fork out almost seven grand for a console and then three to four hundred plus for a game, thats a big ouch! on the pocket. Also I like been a social animal thank you.BUT if you a Playstation fan,I say,GO GO GO for it.Ive heard of marriages disintegrating over Playstation or gaming addiction in general.

Ya, I'm also pretty thankful that I never got into gaming as such; I know that if I did spend lotsa time around consoles, I'd have quite a library of games by now...
As it is, I have enough other interests and hobbies eating into my self-imposed monthly spending limit.
I have only ever bought one Playstation game (Hogs of War) a good few years ago, and 3 PC games. (Pacific Heroes, IL2: The Forgotten Battles and Crimson Skies.)
As regards the free big TV giveaway, I woulda kept the TV and sold the PS3 on eBay, even if I lose a bit of the PS3's asking price, it would effectively be what I 'paid' for that mega-TV.

Wow... That deal with the free HDTV sounds almost too good to be true! No such luck over here in Singapore, but we are getting the PS3 at one of the lowest prices in the region. About US$500, but that's just a rough conversion, mental calculation. Saw the graphics produced by the PS3, astonishing. That thing's a supercomputer on its own.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

@ deluded,
Yeah, can you imagine the queues if people knew that the first 120 customers were getting such a free 'gift'? It makes perfect sense why the very limited promotion wasn't advertised...

@ HOBBS,
It's almost too painful to watch at the moment.
It's easy for me to speak from my ivory tower, but I'm sure Ponting would have rotated the bowlers over and over under such attacking circumstances, compared to allowing Langeveldt et al bowl so many on the trot, and it's not really curbing the run rate...

Rather, damn Jacques Kallis...I can't believe how this guy can be so pedestrian when so much is at stake, even if it's a psychological advantage over the convicts.
I switched off my tv, I don't want to go to bed being depressed because this performance, especially from a our "master" batsman was pathetic.

Oz deserved that win... Unfortunately. After such a platform, it's a damn shame. Been speaking to any bookies, Kallis?
