OK, replacement from SE tested, and sure enough. Still blurred on left side - far from as much as the previous phone, but still noticable, although I can live with it - and I'll pretty much have to, since I really can't be bothered to go through this again - and besides, no more replacement guarantee - and getting it repaired at SE (which is necessary, since the service shops here aren't allowed to) will take up to 5 weeks - after which - it's clear by now - I can't even be sure it'll work better

Anyway, a couple of samples - the first thing I could think of, exposure etc. not adjusted (hence blue halos on the edge between buildings and sky), just a couple of quick shots to test it:

Notice how the texture of the bricks on this one are quite OK in sharpness - while the trees and the bricks just one meter further away are blurred:

For now, I'll be an optimist and say I just shaked the camera a bit in these

@Sergeic
These samples looks quite good not too much blur but still not blur free. I first thought of reparing mine but haven't got to it yet and surely from seeing your pics makes me consider it twice as they haven't sort out the blur even in w 25 batch and using photoshop you can sharpen up your pics considerable.

You're right, of course Also, mostly I'll be using pics taken on this for web distribution, so they'd probably be resized to 800x600 anyway - making most of the blur less obvious.

Cheers, although theres some rather odd dark patches in the pictures where the flowers and other objects cast strange shadows in the bright afternoon sun.

Are you guys noticing the quality differential between R1A and R1J pics discussed in the other topics?, I would like to get the general consesus of opinion of those who have upgraded.

Personally I have noticed no such quality loss, with my normal shots still taking up app 100KB (or more) less space than the fine quality ones.

All my pictures are 100-200 kb smaller in fine mode, than they were before the update, and the quality are equally decreased compared to the pictures I took before the update. Mostly visible in scenery shots where Im now having difficulty in focusing and problems with exposure, something I didnt have before. Seems like "closeups" are more or less the same quality as before.

Some pics I have taken with the new FW don't think the difference in quality is that big. I also seem to get a little less blur with the new FW.
