i use a t230 my friend recently activated mms in airtel(kerala) and has it free.did no tricks.just made balance 0.

Try 100.1.200.99 as ur ip and airtelgprs.com as ur APN

Posted by mvinodkuumarr
I don't think that u can use free wap/mms may be u can activate ur mms free of cost but then u will be charged for every outgoing mms and about wap i don't think its free as when i have low balance at times when it tries to topup my wap a/c it just deactivate my account..so 99/- permonth is a compulsory i guess

correct me if i am wrong

Posted by Pradhika
@vinod. You are right. Free gprs is fluke. It will come into payroll next month. Or suddenly you end up in minus balance. Btw it is no longer gprs settings. It is airtel net setting that works. Rest all wont work nor can you complain.

Posted by mvinodkuumarr
Yep nothing is free on Airtel as of i know
The only free that i ever had is "send an sms MASALA ACTIVE to 121" lol which help my handset to have correct time and date
Lol just a while ago i downloaded "Moblie Office" Settings tho i never sent any sms for its activation

Tho i didn't succeeded in it but the surprise is it doesn't even gave me any error.. as it used to be "server not found"

Not another- I want stuff for free thread ! !

Isn't THIS too like Warez ?

@Sanp> Dunno why you'll put soo much into finding gaps ?

Is a couple of bucks all that hard to spare ?

P.S. PLEASE CHECK THE "NUMEROUS" OTHER THREADS ON THE SAME TOPIC. Otherwise there ud be 52 new threads every year on Esato !

Hey guys first understand one thing airtel is not programmed to keep negative balance for more than 24hrs. So if u keep ur balance less u wont be charged. For eg if u have balance 50 and download a game for 99 u wont be charged. Now for free gprs my technique works atleast in kerala.Just need a little patience.

Posted by Prembond
But dude wait for another 24 hrs n u r balance goes minus the place where i live ppl download games, ringtone frm masala for about a month whr their balance move to -thousands of rs

Not another FREE Gprs thread

Posted by sailaab
Yeah Mrao: But I guess they are gonna have a gala time.. A free Wap thread a day keeps the real ones at bay ! !
What a pity, here we are still with Operator's who charge us for legit services

iactually used free gprs on my masala for 3 months that to when my validity was over. I called customer care like everyday but they kept saying that it was deactivated so i just used it and enjoyed it

Aha...adding fuel to the fire, eh paul??

Posted by whizkidd
I tried all these tricks and none worked. Anyway, i don't need free gprs as at 150 rupees a month, its as good as free!

Dont know whether Bharti Tele guyz are DoDo's or what ?

Its really amazing that Airtel has crediblity after such things. I would think twice bèfore switching to Loonies like these.

AirTel doesn't have a uniform tariff for its GPRS services. A person using AirTel's GPRS (unlimited access) service in part of Mumbai is paying Rs.5 per day which comes to about Rs.155 per month. For the same service AirTel is charging Rs.250 in Kerala. [b]Tamilnadu AirTel customers are the most affected GPRS customers.[b] In Tamilnadu for the same GPRS service AirTel is charging Rs. 600 per month. Why this vast difference in GPRS tariff. Many Tamilnadu customers are paying this amount with out knowing that they are paying more than double the amount of what a Keralite is paying in the adjacent state of Kerala for the same service.

@jamal....dont you already have a separate thread on this one....why post the same thing here ???

HI. I am using a nokia 7250. I activated my airtel gprs a couple of days ago. The airtel guys were quick to deduct 99/- bucks from my balance. I hope it will remain at that as their offer says that I can use unlimited GPRS for 99/- per month only. Are there any hidden costs? I also had my mms and Airtel Live activated but I am currently using moblie office only. So far its working fine.

Posted by whizkidd
@mr, that depends on where are you located. Try calling cc first...they should be able to throw some light.

Posted by rajasub
@ M_R mobile office on prepaid? true? here in rajasthan MO is available on postpaid only. i had to switch to postpaid to get MO activated n that too for Rs 449pm.
and airtel live, airtel gprs n mobile office are 3 different things?

Posted by mrao
@raja....Airtel does offer Mob Office on prepaid in certain circles....
But I doubt if they offer it at the price mentioned by M_R...its probably just Airtel Live....but with Airtel, the prices vary so much from one circle to the other, that you never know

airtel live is free here, they chagre u only for downloads and nothing like activation charges n Rs 99pm

Posted by mrao
oh yes....it is free...they only charge you if you download stuff from their portal...my mistake...thanks for the correction

Jamal: Man thats obnoxious ! Would Airtel allow using services on Roaming ? If I were to milk them instead of them milking me-
I would take a spare number from Kerla circle and use it in TN.

Just tell us, if the differential bcoz of differnt QoS or a market share, Cust Cheating gimmick ?
Forget Bombay etc. In such competitive circles the parametres r complicatd & rates of basic service of call making get launched in Perfect Sync. Almost as ìf each knows, otherz strategy. But how are Value Add services ?

Posted by BlueQuill
Y...its true and I am using it....Mobile office for 99/- bucks p.m. here in jamshedpur. And they are also giving mms for 3/- bucks each.
Arent these uniform rates??
Maybe its a introductory offer or something. I hope it continues. But I am all at sea when it comes to WAP . How exactly can I use my GPRS effectively? I dont want to end up downloading wallpapers and ringtones....Can someone help???

AirTel charges Rs 600 here in chandigarh for mobile office. But we are able to access free gprs using AirTel live.

Posted by rajasub
most of the ppl here know how to access free wap, is there any way to get free full airtel gprs(i mean equalent to MO)where we can access pop mail on phone n net on pc.

Posted by BlueQuill
I think there must have been a dozen threads on this topic. And the replies here seem to be lifted directly from those threads. Guys... Enough is enough .. We dont want an overdose. moderators please end this one here itself

Posted by sailaab
@M_R: LoL stealing my lines Guess Lalu land is blessed. What is it that you wanna get the GPRS for.. will you be surfing connected to a Comp. ?

Posted by Sukhdeep Singh Kohli
Hey if anyone wants to check pop3 mail on phone. Then simply register with txt3.net. It has an online email client. Register and enjoy Gmail or any other pop3 email.

Posted by sailaab
King Singh... Third Party clients can NOT be trusted if one has sensitive data or you cant risk phreaking

Excuse me, can someone please clear up my doubt?
Wap gprs for rs99pm means i can only access wap sites and not web sites?

Posted by BlueQuill
You can access everything. That depends on the browser of your phone. High end phones support a html browser where as lowend phones support only wap. Did you get it ?

This message was posted from a Nokia

Not necessarily.....what you speak of entirely operator dependent....for e.g a the 99/- wap package from Orange in Mumbai allows you wap access only...no web access...irrespective of whether you have an HTML browser or not.....to enable web gprs or advanced gprs as its called, you need to pay more....

yay free stuff

Posted by BlueQuill
@mrao the 99/- pm of airtel lets you access both wap and web sites. What you r able to depends on your browser.

Posted by niranjan007
I can access web pages but no pop. Why? And what else will i get if i opt for the 600pm gprs package? Thanks

hey can some one guide me how to setup my 3220 for the free airtel trick of 2 data accounts

Posted by pratik007
Ya men u r wrong i m able to use free gprs first u have to modify ur airtellive setting just replacing airtelfun.com to airtelmms.com and enjoy

Posted by dheeraj1
u can chk ur gmail a/c via
mail2web.com pda and wap2.0 enable browser
mail2wap.com other handsets.

most secure and reliable third party client

Posted by nizam
Free gprs will work on those handsets that can handle multiple gprs sessions simultaneously. It s done by passing the firewall at airtel proxy.. Its speed is litte bit good compared to mo since less network traffic, but no pop3, telnet nothing only we got access to port 8080 for http .

hi everybody,
i've developed a website with application for mobile who take xml feed to generate application on mobile. and i would like to find people who test or say me what thay think about this site! it's very serious. to testing you need to subscribe in the beta-test program because for the moment the website is lock, it'll be open only for people who will come to test. i don't know if it's the better solution. for that i wait yor suggestion and what you think about that. you WIN 200 SMS if you test mob-it.

And how the system distinguish between WAPsite & WEBsite? Its the network that have restricted some well-known sites. Like hutch has restricted mcommunity, my-symbian,tagtag etc, AirTel has restricted GEOCITIES!
WAP package mean that you can access anything from your mobile's browser but nothing from PC browser or you can't use any applications. But you can access any web or wap site through mobile. Got it you!

Fyi, airtel has NOT blocked geocities. I don't seem to have any problems accessing it...
