I've just spotted the little known Hedvig on Ebay UK. Theres three days to go and the bids are running at £5. I'm sure someone here would be interested.
It doesnt work by the way. Any Esatoers buy it, give us a report on it!
Cheers

Yeh, it looks good... but is there much point to it

Posted by Neil Chen
I sorted this because i know some people here like to collect phones especially prototypes. This would be great for a collection. Its non functional but it is probably internally similar to say a t28/29. I wonder if you could flash it. Any techies out there able to help?

How cool, I wander if they will bring that design concept ot anything it the future...
Note its jog wheel! and sharksfin areial like the previous ruged phone.
Posted by Neil Chen
Its not actually the sharkfin design, its antenna looks like a more symmetrical varient of the classic ericsson stub. I had the r310s - this looks like a quite fragile phone in comparison!

I can see why they canned it; having the screen at the bottom is silly. You'd need rubber fingers to avoid covering the display when you used it.

i wanted to get that fone from the guy, contacted him, but he disappeared... anyway, there it is now on ebay, so if sy of u wanna have, go for it! but check it out, if its not just a fake joke. i couldnt find any closer infos about "hedvig", but it doesnt mean, its not real.

It looks weird. Pity it doesn't work

Posted by BobaFett
the guy told me, he has 2 of them. one of it is total defect, the other can be switched on and make calls, some menus are working aswell. but as i mentioned, he disappeared...

sweet, love the design. this is inovation, this is something SE doesn't give us anymore
Posted by BobaFett
@bart amen! the idea is really very original, design aswell. but its weird, that this beauty is never mentioned in any other site. contacted /// and se aswell, but no idea from them.

I hope that wasnt directed at me. I have been following the thread started by bobafett and noticed that various people seem to be collecting these prototypes off ebay. Interested i pursued it further. hence the link. The sellers from england. I'm from Ireland! Just thought it would be nice for a collector.
Now apparently this isnt the first time one of these things has come up on sale before. Its been spotted on ebay by Germans. I done a long search on the Hedvig on google and cant remember which words i searched for.
Doesnt the keypad look a bit T28 ish?
Posted by Neil Chen
Err its gone up to £56 bid! That's ridiculous may i say for a phone that doesnt work. Some people must want it pretty badly!

bargin!
Posted by BobaFett
thats a good price, still acceptable.

i could not justify spending over a £100 on a non functional phone, unless a was a rich rich man and had a unhealthy obsession with phones.
Posted by BobaFett
Its a real rarity, so it has its price. Do dont have to be rich or have any kind of illness to get such a fone.
Posted by joebmc
well maybe no illness (maybe there are rare phone collectors out there?) But you gotta be pretty well off to spend £100 on a non working phone (i could not "waste" my money like that)
But each to there own

Posted by BobaFett
I dont see it as a waste, we all got our different passions.
Posted by joebmc
True.

Posted by BobaFett
I do hope in some years /// fones will be real rarities aswell, mean mostly the r and t series.

There you go: Another chap over at Telefon-Treff.de won the auction and shoot some impressive photos of the phone.
What is surprising, the whole casing is made of metal.
Photos
