Was wondering what is the correct pronounciation of Nokia? Here in Australia most people say Nok-ia.
While in the states it is No-kia.
What is correct?

In England we prononce it: Nok-ia; like you.
I expect, to find the correct prenonceation, find what county's nokia's from and see how they prononce it

edit: like how jelly said it

Yanks say;
No key a
Or the ones i have met do, but Americans are wrong on most things;
They drive on the wrong side of the road,
They serve cups of tea, WITHOUT using boiling water !!!
They think letting citizens "Arm" themselves is a good idea, perhaps forgetting that only a crazy person would want a gun.
They call "Jam" Jelly, & "Jelly" Jello.
Once in the US, i saw a Guy coming towards me on the wrong side of the road eating a Jelly sandwhich, spilling cold tea, with a loaded gun sticking out the window, how do you think i reacted when i couldn't think up an ending to this "made up ridiculous story".

Nokia is from Finland. In the Finnish language, most words have the emphasis on the first syllable.
So an educated guess would be: Noo-kja (I am guessing the i is a silent i)

Damn i am still confused.
However I am very impressed with the time it took to go into garbage

Can some Fin guy just post a link to a .wav file so we can ear how is it pronounced?
The thread would then be locked...
