I am a bit shocked to be honest and feel less guilty about not wanting to buy it . Maybe Note 4 did not sell that well here ? I always thought Note line was popular but I guess not . it makes sense not to throw S6 edge against note 5 however I feel left out

hahaha wow how nice of samsung to screw over their loyal fans.
Still not a surprise, notice how the launch was much earlier than last year's show and in only in New York. Clearly the sales of the note series are much higher in the US and other asian countries, and samsung is gunning for this market.
Perhaps the note 4 is still selling much better in europe than expected and samsung saw no point in updating it here. This US launch if probably a pre-emptive strike against apple (and apple pay) and the new upcoming iphone 6+s, which will be a stupid name.
Regardless of the reasons for withholding the note 5 from europe, people will import the device and it will not be cheap.

I will probably get the Edge +. I found the screen on the regular edge too small. The curved screen makes more sense on a larger phone imo.

A lot of Londoners use the Note 4, very disappointed with that. My Bro and his engineer buddies depend on their Notes mainly because of the stylus. Better to have the Note 5 in Europe than the pointless Edge Plus and once upon a time the Note was a true no compromise 100% powerhouse. From a work perspective a non-removable battery and no expandable SD storage has killed it. Again, I know a lot of engineers who have secondary batteries and keep multiple SD cards for work purposes. What a way to screw over many loyal fans who utilise their Notes to the absolute maximum.

Having a smaller battery makes no sense at all. Even if software optimizations help a long way users should still have the 3,200 mah battery to go with. I use my phones a whole lot and the more power I have the better. no reasons whatsoever for a smaller battery. None!

Agree with you skblakee and serious Note users don't care much for design or having a thin device, they don't want a single compromise and it seems the Samsung have dumped a load of features in one go.

By removing MicroSD Slot, Removable Battery, and even a quirky feature like the IR Blaster, they have isolated us power users.
I am definitely keeping my Note 4 for another year, it seems as though it is the last true Note.
There is a reason why many used to say 'Only a Note can replace a Note', and that is due to the sheer amount Samsung USED TO pack in a Note, but the Note 5 and their stupid decisions, they have diluted their best brand.

Glad to see the Note5 and S6 Edge+ improves the battery life by some minutes over the Note 4, despite the batt. being a whole 220mAh smaller, Samsung truly rules when it comes to Power Saving Tech, looking at those graphs, as the phones around the Note 4, Note5 and S6 Edge+ are using much smaller Screens with only HD1080P Res and batteries that are around the same size, or even bigger than the Samsungs, truly incredible

This is why I laugh at people who believe a QHD display will mean poor battery life. The S6 Edge+ gets exactly the same rating as the Xperia Z3, despite the Z3 having a much smaller display, with much lower Res, yet a battery that is larger.
I still can't get over the 64GB Internal Mem limitation with no 128GB variant or MicroSD slot in both Note5 and S6 Edge+, they seem to be lovely phones, but I really need either 128GB Internal or Mem Expansion.

You just forgot to mention that Z3 uses a Snapdragon 801, built on the old 28nm architecture...
With a 14nm processor is a must of Samsung achieve this results.
My Note 4 never gave me more than 6 hours of SOT + 22 hours of usage while my previous Xperia Z3 easily passed 08:30 hours with 36 hours+ of usage.

I have used both the Note 4 and the Z3 for long periods and there is no way the Note 4 beats the Z3 in everyday use. That is rubbish, I'll never accept that. My Z1C gives me one and a half days and the Note 4 less then a day used sparingly. My personal real life tests are more reliable than these dubious websites.
