Last night we moved the Esato web site from the hosting company in Bergen, Norway where we have been since the launch of the site back in the year 2000. Our new home is now in France. A much less expensive place to be. At the same time, we switched from the good old Apache web server to nginx. We also secured the login procedure to the forum by adding support for secure (SSL) pages.
Changing web server software is not entirely without risk. We will most likely meet obstacle somewhere. This means that you, the forum users, will encounter problems during the next couple of days. Please let me know if you find anything strange with the forum during your visit the next couple of days.

The "My Posts" link doesn't work for me. It just comes up with a blank page saying "file not found".
I am not having any problems staying logged in.
I also get the same error as itsjustJOH when clicking Forum from the top menu.

Yeah can't upload photos either. Also I have just tried to change my profile and it has told me I have been banned from this forum and I need to contact the system administrator.

Still getting logged out when I close my browser. Can't log in with my mobile phone, when I try to log in it says I can't access the page because I am not logged in (message above the log in area).

It seems I can access the mobile version, from the work pc, when I can't in the html site without problems.

So far, I have encountered two problems:
1) Sometimes, I can't get to the login page. After a long wait, the browser bangs out with a timeout error
2) "My posts" sends me to an empty "Search" panel. It seems that the new search.php function does not support some or all of the old search parameters that are passed in the link behind the Search button (search.php?term=&addterms=any&forum=all&search_username=altemyr&sortby=posttime_desc&searchboth=both&resulttype=&submit=submit)

Only two new photos by one user uploaded in the Photos section since yesterday.
And even once this upload issue is resolved, it will all be useless if the 4MB limit is for real since almost all flagship smartphones easily take photos that are bigger than that.
I see now that this new home in France is cheaper for a reason, but I doubt it will be worth it for you guys in the long run...

You should now be able to upload photos up to 20 MB in size. Since we change both the server hardware and changed to a new web server platform, this particular issue required a couple of more configuration changes. We did not have a 4MB limit on the old server, and the intention was not to reduce the limit after the upgrade.

When I try to rotate photos at the Photos section, I'm returned to the photo section page. And I notice that the url ends in "?error=idim".

Is Esato dying, or what? This morning, there were only 9 new posts on the entire forum since last time I visited, which was a couple of days ago, and of those posts 3 were obvious spam, unless Esato has switched direction of interest from mobile phones to health care substances, drugs and questionable surgery.
Furthermore, on the "News" front page, we can read about news such as Sony's Xperia Z1 Compact or Samsung's S4 mini, or that Sony is about to release Jellybean on their tablets. The top newest post about new Nokia models is from February.
All of that may still be interesting reading, but it's not news anymore.

No, it is not. After Esato was switched from server, there have been some issues. Others haven't been able to log in, enter the site, etc. That's the reason. After all these issues get fixed, this site will be up and running smoothly

Hi guys. I've been absent for a while due to my new job, but I've now fixed a couple of the bugs in the Profile and Preferences pages. Let me know if you have more trouble with those two. My next job is to fix whatever is wrong with the photo upload section.
