Watching it on Bloomberg!!!
Watched the whole thing right on my TV, no need to stream, Bloomberg had it live I don't think they've even done that with an Apple announcement.
Bloomberg are all about Samsung today

EDIT:
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 enters the phablet ring: 5.7" AMOLED display and new S Pen features

Tears of joy are running down the cheeks of phablet fans worldwide today, as the third edition of the phone that created the category was just announced by Samsung at the IFA expo today.

It is dubbed Galaxy Note 3, runs Android 4.3 with Samsung's Nature UX overlay, and will throw its weight into quite the different phablet environment than what it was used to the last two years.

New S Pen

Against the formidable competition of gigantic phones like the Sony Xperia Z Ultra the Note 3 wields a new S Pen stylus with increased functionality, dubbed Smart Freedom. The new S Pen pops up a circle with five actions to choose from when you press its button - Action Memo, Scrapbook, Screen Write, S Finder, Pen Window - and there is a much enhanced Multi Window mode now, letting you switch seamlessly between applications without closing the window, drag and drop stuff into the open ones, and you can even draw your own app window with the stylus via the Pen Window function, with a size and shape of your choosing.

Design

There is stitched leather material on the back, quite the bold move by Samsung, and the handset is not wider than the Note II, for example, at 151.2 x 79.2 x 8.3mm, despite the larger screen, while it weighs the reasonable 168g. There will be official cases in nine different colors, and the S View cover now has a much larger window opening for more information pouring in.

Specs

We get a 5.7" Full HD Super AMOLED display - a feast in its own - as well as all the flagship bells and whistles we'd expect this season, and even more. Blazing 1.9 GHz Exynos 5 Octa or 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 chipsets will be inside, depending on the market, and 3 GB of RAM are above and beyond anyone's offerings. The handset starts you off with 32/ 64 GB storage plus a microSD slot (up to 64GB).

The 13 MP camera on the back seems to be directly borrowed from the S4, ensuring some of the top quality images coming from an Android phone, plus it comes with high-CRI (color rendering index) LED flash. Depending on the model, the camera can record 4K Ultra HD video (we are guessing with the Snapdragon version), or 1080p video with 60fps. In addition, Ultra High Quality Audio (~192KHz, 24 bit) support is present, just like on the LG G2.

As for radios, the Snapdragon version of the phone will support 6 different LTE bands, there is WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS / GLONASS, NFC, Bluetooth v 4.0, IR LED (Remote Control), and MHL 2.0 port for wired connectivity.

A hearty 3200 mAh battery is keeping the lights on, which should be plenty for the phablet, with only a few other handsets out there sporting similar or larger capacity, and Samsung cited 40% more video playback than the previous Note, which is quite the achievement. The handset will arrive September 25th in more than 140 countries worldwide.

all S800 soc devices should be able to do so. Surprise Z1 doesn't ship with it.

4K @30FPS + 3GB RAM confirmed!
What a beast!

Posted by rikken
The thing looks gorgeus, the manage to do the same thing they did with the S4, slimmer design and a larger screen. (The new Sony Z1 is larger than the Z with same screen size).
Lots of new S-Pen functions, a brilliant screen and I am sure the camera follows Samsung standard and will shoot some exellent pics The Galaxy Gear is really good-looking and impresses with the many ways it connects to your phone

Can't wait to get my hands on the NOTE III

No OIS but they reckon that'll be on the GS5 now. Great specs just another samey desgin though. A nice healthy 3 gig ram

Posted by Tsepz_GP
According to PhoneArena, their Samsung Unpacked live stream had around 110,000 views

Anyway...
I actually want this Note, lol.

Lowest variant is 32GB, EXCELLENT! Samsung moving with the times
4K @ 30 FPS video
3GB RAM
Android4.3 out-the-box (typical Samsung, giving us the very latest available )
Improvements to Multiview multitasking
Improvements to clipboard and S Memo features
Larger display in a smaller shell and thin bezel
Improved S View Cover and features
A whole lot of new S Pen features
An ACTUAL stylus in the package
An ACTUAL LED flash
IR Blaster
3200mAh battery
some great, useful accessories etc...

Great job by Samsung
There is no Phablet that can come near it, seems 2013 is another year filled with "also-rans" from other companies in both Smartphones and Phablets.

Like how Samsung are paying attention to ergonomics, Note 3 is smaller and lighter than Note 2, they haven't gone the opposite way and made it stupidly large and heavy, thank goodness

Samsung Galaxy Note III size comparison: larger screen, but more compact body

Think the LG G2 or the Acer S2 does 4K video @60fps

Note III lighter and thinner than the Z1 a few millimeters longer but has a 0,7 " larger screen

Got a feeling the Z1 will wipe the floor with the Note 3's camera though.

I wouldn't have if the person the advice was for could figure out why the ZU was heavier than the n3.

And, again, let's see you comfortably holding that with one had without blocking the screen.

As usual with a new Samsung, they claim the benchmark king title:
The first benchmark scores of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 are in

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is currently the fastest smartphone (phablets included) on the market right now. There’s a noticeable performance lead over the Snapdragon 600 competitors and it even outruns the Snapdragon 800 competitions by a hair.

And more awesome news, GALAXY S3 and GALAXY S4 Android4.3 will arrive next month!

Android 4.3 coming to Samsung Galaxy S3 and S4 in October, no word on Note 2

SamMobile

Great news regarding the 4.3 update

Posted by Tsepz_GP
I like how Samsung brings new products but also brings something for current and older products each time with a major announcement, there is actually a whole new 4.2.2 FW rolling out for the GS4 as we speak to starting with the Euro region.

I hope the Note2 users get 4.3 at the same time as S3 and S4, the Note range phones seem to require a bit more time, and with Samsung skipping 4.2 it's making it a difficult wait for Note2 users.

Roll on it, my S3 hasn't had an update in months !

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 preview: Samsung crowns the new phablet king

"I spent just a short amount of time with the new Galaxy Note 3 following Samsung’s press IFA press conference on Wednesday, and I can already say it’s an improvement over its predecessor in almost every way. When I reviewed the Galaxy Note II last year I called it the best phablet on the planet and truth be told, not much has changed since then.

In other words, the Galaxy Note 3 is already the best phablet on the planet and it hasn’t even hit store shelves yet."

BGR

Posted by rikken
Quote : First and foremost, Samsung’s smartphone displays are always among the most impressive on the planet and the Note 3′s panel is no different. Helping matters even more is the fact that the bezel around the display is remarkably thin on the sides of the screen, which makes it seem like almost the entire face of the phone is display. It really is a great touch that gives the phone a stunning look.

Again, great engineering, driving the phone and phablet business forward

I love everthing about this phone except that it isn't water-resistant and then I don't quite trust Samsung in terms of signal. If I wasn't struggling with the signal on my S4 I would wait for Samsung to come up with the water-resistant S5 and get it but...

I much prefer softer and rounded corners than the hard edges Sony employs.

In typical Samsung fashion, they've gone all out with this beast and even forgot to name a few more capabilities and industry 1sts

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 sports USB 3.0 connector for faster transfers and charging

The Galaxy Note 3 is the industry’s first mobile device that comes with a whopping 3GB of RAM (and lots of software features to make use of all that RAM). However, there’s another feature that might be the first on a mobile device that’s debuting with the Note 3 – a USB 3.0 micro B port for file transfers and charging.

It’s not a feature that’s been talked about much, but it offer multiple benefits. First, speed of file transfers with a USB 3.0-enabled PC will be faster, a welcome change from the slow speeds we’re used to on smartphones right now. The other benefit will be when charging – USB 3.0 provides up to 900mA output current, higher than the 500mA of USB 2.0, so you won’t have to worry about extremely slow charging when charging from your PC. In fact, there’s also a 1.5mA mode on USB 3.0, though that makes concurrent file transfers impossible, so it remains to be seen if there’s an option for both on the device or whether the 900mA mode is permanent.

Oh, and if you’re worried about losing that micro B USB 3.0 cable and having no way to charge or manage files on your device, don’t be. Similar to those backward-compatible USB 3.0 flash drives, the Note 3 will allow you to connect a standard microUSB cable as well, so Samsung has every base covered.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Gear coming to all major U.S. carriers

Few hours have passed since Samsung went official with the exciting Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear, and all major U.S. carriers have already come forward with announcements about the two devices. Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint have confirmed that they will carrying the Note 3 and Gear. Pricing or release dates weren’t mentioned, but in the case of the latter, both devices should launch in the U.S. at or sometime after September 25th, the day when they will be launched in 149 countries around the world.

T-Mobile, Sprint, and AT&T have put up pre-registration pages for receiving alerts on availability (see the links below), but Verizon will go one step further and open up for pre-orders this Friday (we hope pricing is revealed that day as well). U.S. Cellular is also being said to carry at least the Note 3, though there’s no official word on that yet.

I like the GS2 inspiration, I did say that even the GS4 seems to be inspired by the GS2, slightly recessed display, more straight lines etc... It looks a lot more sleek than the Note 2, loving the back cover, combine that with the Note 3's S View Cover it will really feel like a digital note book, the consistency in Samsungs branding is incredible, from the naming to the material used here.

WRT the battery, I'm also a bit disappointed its not 3500mAh, but considering the Note 3's display is only 0.2inches larger and has less power hungry hardware, I think battery life will be equal if not a tiny bit better than Note 2, which is already better than than any competitor.

A very nice video, showing the Note 3's new features, Samsung have really mastered how to highlight the breakout features in their devices, I can't wait to see the Note 3's TV ads, if its anything like the Galaxy S4 ads, competitors are in for a long hard uphill battle to get attention.
Introducing Samsung GALAXY Note 3

Introducing the new Samsung GALAXY Note 3 which shares a smarter large screen experience and new S Pen features that help to make everyday tasks easier and faster.

With a smaller footprint and lighter chassis, yet housing a generous 5.7″ Full HD Super AMOLED display, the GALAXY Note 3 provides a stunning viewing experience. The GALAXY Note 3 is powered by a 2.3 GHz Quad-Core processor, 3GB of RAM, 3,200 mAh battery and runs on Google’s Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS.

The GALAXY Note 3 also features a textured back cover and delicate stitching that delivers a premium look and feel.

Why did they use leather for the back S..If one really wanted leather, they could just buy a case. Imo its the best looking note so far but I am just not as impressed with it as I was with note 2.

Posted by Bonovox
But is it leather or a faux look?? Like they did with the faux metallic look on back of Ativ S which looks good.

Posted by skblakee
The battery not being bigger should not be a problem once power management is done well. In fact better power management on the Note 3 should make battery life even better than on the Note 2 so no need to add an even heavier battery to the phone.
The resolution on the Note 3 is also better than the iPhone 5 (don't know about the 5S yet). In fact it is better than most phones.

The leather (faux) makes for a more premium look and feel and helps to get away from the criticism of the all plastic look and feel while also allowing for swappable batteries and memory card. Speaking of memory the minimum they will have is 32gb internal. Nice. Now one can have a theoretical 96gb (larger cards might be coming soon) on the Note 3. Can't beat that.

Posted by Tsepz_GP
So that's Samsung's portfolio done for 2013 I guess, all we're going to see now is just mid rangers with multiple variants and regionally specific phones, quite a porfolio they've had this year, very well rounded . I'd love to know how the Galaxy S4 Zoom, Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3 did for them, I wonder if we will see successors for them.

Very happy with my Galaxy S4, although I wouldn't mind getting a Note 3 as an Xmas pressie I'm happy with the design Samsung chose for both S4 and Note 3, bringing in some elements of GS2 and Note 1 with some new touches, they look very sleek and elegant and are a bit smaller than their predecessors, Samsung have focussed on important parts of design and haven't just made their phones prettier.

Looking forward to the Galaxy S5, I hope the supposed usage of metal doesn't make it too heavy, I'd be very disappointed if it weighed in at over 145g if its to have a display anywhere between 5-5.3inches.

At the moment the note has the edge, but the ultra is way sexier. tough decisions ahead....

Strange nobody here mentioned that only the S800 ( LTE ) model does 4K video recording, Exynos variant does not (1080p only).

I remember some people claiming how Exynos was superior to Qualcomm Snapdragon in every way and yet now they try to hide this fact.

"Looks like the Exynos version is not powerful enough for 4K capture"

Anyway,

Does this phone have a real leather back or is it fake?? Reason I ask is won't leather fade over time and won't you need a leather protector spray As for 4K video it's great as LG and Acer do it on new models too but it's pretty useless without a 4K tv

Is it a matter of the Exynos 5420 not actually being powerful enough to do 4K or a matter of it simply not being optimized to do it? Considering how powerful the Exynos 5410 is in the GS4, the 5420 is even more powerful, I doubt power is an issue, they probably found that it ate far too much power at 4K, either way, the majority of Note 3s will be 4K capable, so what does it matter in the end
I remember a certain Sony phone that was said to have a huge sensor, xenon flash, 4K etc... Thanks for the good laugh.
10/10 for effort though.

If one is looking for a phablet, Note 3 seems the very best way to go, the competitors seem to still be trying to find their feet in the Phablet market, none has as solid product as Samsung.

Posted by >500
To be fair, I really dont think the Z Ultra wasnt made to go directly against the Note series. I mean, clearly the much larger size doesn't compare. And the little effort with the overall experience when using the stylus.
