Great news from Nokia. But maybe a little too late...But it is a great step towards greater devices.
Here's a video and the specifications.

And an image

Looks better...
...than this

The Asha range is for emerging markets and low budgets. I don't like them although they are quirky. It's good to see them improving the experience like with a improved UI and a little bit of multitasking. Also the tap to wake feature is derived from Meego

Yeah, hopefully Nokia will restart Meego in a form of low end devices..ha-ha.
And double tap to unlock is a nice feature indeed as well as the multitasking and a little bit of Swipe and the icons.
Now, when a first Sailfish device is just days from release, Nokia will do something about it's low end devices.

Asha 501 is as good as it gets. Keep in mind the Nokia naming scheme where the number 100 is the most basic and 999 most powerful. All Asha models are in the 100-501 range and all Lumia handsets are between 505 and 928. Some of the 501 user interface concept is taken from the ideas brought to Nokia by Smarterphone

Does this guy in the video remind you about someone from Apple called Ive?
