Would've been the perfect WP mid end if only it had 1GB RAM. I think having 512mb will cripple it in the not so distant future.

Posted by Bonovox
Maybe but my 620 runs fine on 512. And I think Nokia has got the pricing right with this phone with great features and without being, well, crap. Unlike Android WP8 can run on 512 ram pretty well I get no stutter or lag. MS and app developers have done well to make it work. Looking forward to their next big camera phone now. But I like this phone

Clearly Nokia will have chosen the best photos to showcase the Lumia 720's imaging capabilities, but they do show what is possible with the device in terms of imaging performance!

720 vs 520 display!

The advantage of the ClearBlack Display!

Posted by Bonovox
Cannot see much difference

Posted by itsjustJOH
The black color is deeper.

Posted by Bonovox
Yeah it would be but i find that the black's on Nokia clear black is not all that black to be honest. Unless its AMOLED like the Lumia 800 or 820 is then it looks great. But on my 620 the clear black is not really deep black at all. Though the laminated deep black displays are easy to read outside

Posted by itsjustJOH
CBD is not aiming for pure black, nor can it produce OLED black. It reduces the glare so that what you see would be deeper blacks and therefore perceive better contrast, at least that's what I understood about this tech. Assume the wall behind that camera being reflected on both screens is white, the one on the 720 reflects less from the light bouncing off that wall than the one on the 520. Therefore, the user would perceive it to have a better contrast because the black looks deeper because of the less reflection.

Add this tech to an AMOLED and you would have a damn good contrast, like the one on the 808.

True yes. I know clear black is good in sunlight like the Lumia 800 was amazing in sunlight

Posted by Bonovox

Played with one today in O2 store. Gorgeous screen, great build as usual and feels light for a change for a Nokia. Front camera looked clear

Posted by itsjustJOH
The Lumia brothers side-by-side-by-side-by-side-by-side!

Nokia Lumia 520, 620, 720, 820 and 920 comparison

820 gets the best display quality IMO, followed by 920, 720, 620 and 520.

Dam bono, it's hard to keep up with your phone's bud congrats on your new buy

Posted by Bonovox

Am sooooooo happy with it!! So glad I dumped the Sony i realise what it is I love best!! Such a gorgeous phone and stunning feel and performance!! Great two cameras on it aswell. Front camera being clear and wide angle Beautiful curved glass on the front slimmer and lighter than the older Lumia 800 that it resembles. As long as it keeps working and all is well it's a keeper. Am pleased

Wow, they are some nice shots bono, it certainly does take some good photos.

Posted by Bonovox
Cheers. There is a little blurring in corners of images but nothing major that a software fix cannot sort out. Nokia are always pushing updates even more often than Samsung does. Not been so pleased with a purchase for a long time!!!!! Did a video also of the Bull in the Bull Ring centre today it's all covered in flowers, something to do with our Botanical gardens and summertime

Cool, it takes a good video there, a little choppy but a clear image, all in focus and some nice vibrant colours, I'm pleased for you bud

Posted by Bonovox
Ah that was You Tube messed it up. It is smooth actually. It is much better than that I have no idea what happened. I clicked on make video enhancements and it got worse

GS4 wallpapers app on WP looks great on the IPS clear black display

Am waiting for nightfall now to do a few night shots test as it has a very bright f1.9 lens

Posted by Del
Ha ha, love the lock screen pic.

Posted by Bonovox
Yes and it does have lock screen notifications too. Two night shots in the photos section. They are bright and look good but a little noisy

Posted by Bonovox
You get an idea here how the screen is,so vibrant

http://youtube.com/watch?v=T4mLsVRPbcw

Posted by Del
Yes the screen is vibrant, looks as good as the 820 I had, and in the video there was no lag

Give us some bokeh pics!
Macro or non-macro.

Posted by Bonovox
I have found my ultimate phone in Lumia 720!!!!! Doesn't matter that it has no HD screen it's still bright, colourful and definately sharp enough. Sunlight viewing is second to none, viewing angles are best i have seen. The curved glass like on Lumia 920,800 phones feels and looks stunning. It's smooth to touch with hardly any finger prints showing and it is laminated to the the glass so it looks like it's printed on the glass and pops out. All very elegant. Performance is buttery smooth and with 512 megs of RAM it suffers no issues and 9/10 apps run fine. Camera is great as is the front one too. Build quality as always with Nokia the best and i cannot put this phone down it's so elegant. The battery, well having a WVGA screen at 4.3 inches with a 2,0000mAh battery and that power efficient processor and WP8 system really helps. I have had the phone off charge for 5 hours now and it's 98% with average usage. Excellent. Nokia is best and am surprised in my view that they don't do better than Samsung. Am sorry to say but whenever i go back and try Android i just hate it and end up back with WP again. This will be mine for a while now. I often wonder why people choose shitty Android over this.

Eh?? If you're a hardcore gamer then it's not the phone for you but Angry Birds runs fine. I never play games on my phone, well very rarely. As for apps none have given me any issues. The only issues are sometimes What's App crashes or stalls but that is What's App on WP in general. It's always been a bit worse on WP What's App has for some reason but it's improving all the time. It happens on 1 gig ram phones too. Nokia even made a version of Tune In Radio for 512 ram phones with no less functionality. Will upload screen shots later of battery time. Will also try some macro shots are reviews have said macro is excellent.

Yes there is noise on night shots like most phones, but it's decent for a mid range handset.

Wow, again some nice shots there bono is it my imagination or does the 720 take better photos than the xperia t?

Posted by Bonovox
Yes,the 620 also took better shots than the XT. Look at these two shots of the snow with the XT and Lumia 620 I took a while ago. Look at the snow on the 620 and then the snow on the XT. The Lumia is pure white on auto setting the XT is not

Yep you can certainly see the difference there, that's just plain crazy on the part of Sony

Ha ha, some nice shots of your phone bono

The Sony in snow it looks purple ish tint. The snow setting on the Sony doesn't make much difference but the Nokia just got the white balance right on auto. I am sure there are things the Sony can do better but overall I would choose Nokia anytime now.
