Samsung Galaxy S3 Rumours!

The specs of Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S III have recently been leaked over the internet.
There was a lot of variation between the rumoured specifications so I made a short list of the most likely features that will appear on the phone when it's announced next year:
Display: 4.6-inch Super AMOLED Plus HD

720 x 1280 pixels ~319 ppi (Retina Display!)
Gorilla Glass

CPU: 1.8 GHz Dual-Core processor
(Samsung Exynos 4212 chipset)

Memory: 2GB of RAM

Camera: 12 megapixel camera

OS: Android: Ice Cream Sandwich
TouchWiz UI

Build: All metal body
9mm thickness

Although these very impressive specs are only rumours and haven't been confirmed by Samsung, I think everyone is hoping they will come true

I really don't get the move towards bigger screens, surely this will mean a bigger phone and therefore something that is less of a phone and more of a tablet.

but where does phone end and tablet start?

I'm not yet sure. is 5" the cross over? or perhaps this 4.6"

the answer probably lies in what we will accept in our pockets

Depends how big your pockets are Well, seeing the recent Galaxy Note that is massive & more tablet like. I would not want something that big but if true the specs are amazing!! Samsung are catering for everyone these days. I am unsure if that photo is true though. Samsung maybe racing ahead of itself

I can see Samsung coming up with such a phone except they wouldn't go for 2GB of RAM. That part I don't think is right, most likely this will carry a 1GB of RAM.

I dont want a phone with a screen more than 4".. 4" would be perfect for me...

I would like a big screen, although I agree 5" should be the absolute limit.
I just wish it will be made out of premium metal instead of glossy plastic, then it would be perfect so hopefully the specs come true!

What! 2GB? are we in a 64Bit android OS now? Its as if Android does more processing than a PC, i doubt it though unless Samsung wants some more publicity and pride

sorry, but in an effort to appear "to keep ahead of iOS" the android claims are becoming more random such as quad core (which is as-yet unsupported) and the need for GB's of RAM etc etc... iOS works perfectly fine on 1/2 gb RAM so I'm suspecting that this issue is taking over the megapixel camera race which also was a load of nonesense as most now agree!

I on the other hand, love "big screens". If this camera is not as good as the n8's, I will go for the 'note' early in January.

will be watching the unveiling in about thirty minutes. grab the app to watch. search 'unpacked' .

yeah but you need to consider that iOS doesn't support proper multitasking whereas Android does, hence more RAM is always better to have especially if you have lots of apps running!
