Just tried, but no luck. You already have the latest version.

Posted by cableguy
Yeah same for me, (funny that SE said it would be around four weeks for the new Satio Firmware last Friday)

Posted by basithz
i think the satio update has been launched but will be fully available in a few days but not sure, because otherwise se wouldnt have of replied so quickly saying there is an update out today

Nothing new in the SEUS database...

Posted by cableguy
That website cant be updated anymore due to changes in EMMA, so no point looking there for new firmwares.

seus database doesnt post anymore updates

Posted by Zacie
Ah... OK. I do not follow these things very.

Posted by Rookwise
Just checked. Nothing for Generic Western Europe firmware yet.

Posted by basithz
i think the update will be released on march 3rd as it roughly takes them 8 days to the software approved and out as the last update came out on the 7th december 2009 and if you input *#0000# it says software version date 29th November 2009 so i am pretty sure the update will either be out before or on the 3rd of march

I hope!!!

Posted by Xajel
in SEUS database I saw new one I didn't saw before

note the first one named R1BB041, AFAIK the latest one was R1CA037 which is the one I have...

U1 R1BB041/R1B017
U1 R1CA037/R1C014
U1 R1CC001/R1C014

Posted by cableguy
U1 R1CC001/R1C014 is for Orange only

it's R1BB041 not R1CC001

Posted by cableguy
U1 R1BB041/R1B017 was the first Satio firmware released.
SE software versioning uses numbers and letters.

You will normally only see the letters increasing R1AB ---> R1AC ---> R1AD ..... (except for I as its too similar to 1) --> R1AZ then R1BA --> R1BB .....

And R2A is later that R1Z ,generally when the number increases its a major change in software.

Thank you cableguy, now it's clear to me

Posted by basithz
have just tried to see if there is update and it says already got the latest update, but on the updater i saw the vivaz there so the satio update must not be that far away

Posted by cableguy
Im not seen Vivaz when I launch SEUS on my PC, weird

i ve a strong feeling that this update for Satio, would be a major one fixing a lot of bugs and hopefully adding HD recording??

Posted by cableguy
yeah that email ties in with the one I got last week saying that the Satio Firmware will be available in approx 4 weeks time. So mid to late march

Why would you belive anything SE tell you? I have just received a reply to my email asking why there is no support for voice dialling in the Satio, and have been told that sybian phones do not have this support. When I asked them why Nokia and samsung have it in their phones, they told me they do not support none SE products. I replied to them explaining that voice dialling is part of the Symbian OS and I am now waiting for a reply from them. So if they are unable to include the simplest of features, why is everyone thinking they will include other features. Seems it is about time SE went back to their own OS instead of trying to use software they know nothing about.

hd recording ? .... on the Satio ? .... now that would be good to see (but probably not in my life time )

Posted by Rookwise
It will probably be a few weeks yet seeing as the Satio has been pulled from sale again in the UK due to software issues again.

Again?!?! This is bad news for SE bad good news for us... because this is the only way to they give us the update! hope that it will be better than the first one...

Posted by zide
My Satio is running flawlessly... I wonder If I should update it or not when the new firmware arrives... By the way, stop asking them when will it come out. They don't know it. That's why they are not giving a precise date. Those answers are just to shut you up.

Would it be technically possible to exchange Satios OS to Symbian^3 or Android in the future? If not, I wonder why... And a true HD recording? ;o

I believe in a android ROM for Satio,symbian^3 not...

My Satio are working like a swiss clock!Everything is ok!
If a new update comes soon,it will be welcome but not totally necessary.(for who haves the phone 100% ok like me and Zide for example)

Posted by burnin
My Satio ir running 100% too, no problems at all. I should do the update but only in hope that have new "things" because in terms of bugs i dont see nothing.

I hope that in the future, it will be possible to connect to WPA Wi-Fi protected networks, its the only thing that i dont like because many Hot Spots on Portugal are protected by this protocol.

This will make the phone better or something?

I dont have any bugs too ... I have just to complain about some missing things that probably never be added
But at least they should give us a decent T9 or at least the same of 3years ago and not that crap

Look on the homepage of se-nse. Its mentioned there along with pricing for the X10 at Carphone Warehouse.

I'm not sure, but nI have got the impressio nthat they stopped incrementing the version number. despite of this, I have made three upgrades on my Satio, disregarding the message that I already have the latest version, and each time, the functionality and stability has actually improved. After the most recent update, all the standby panels are now actually working, for example. The last update, however, trigged a hard reset of the phone. Lyckily, I had a fairly fresh backup.

after updating did you get any new features as you say its quicker even thought it says you have already got the latest firmware update

Where did you find this news ? I wonder how come a new software problem come up when there has been no releases !!!
Or are you referring to an old news ??

Posted by miguel82
I think that the only update untill now gave us only but more speed to the UI. So its perfectly natural that people still return their phones due to the bad user experience and lack of software features.

Posted by harvy2001

i find it hard for people to say my satio is workig 100% fine, the bugs in the phone have been well documented,

yes day to day use is fine but you know thier are many things missing on this phone its not quite the final product it should be, its a real shame though because this is a killer phone!

im happy with my phone but even i keep checking everyday for the update - i want the small bugs fixed for good!

i only say this as ive used a few nokia phones and it feels a little crap to see the ui all perfect on thier phones!

Satio

The word on the street is that Satio is about to be pulled from sale in the UK again by Carphone Warehouse, Britain’s largest mobile retailer. The handset is apparently still on sale at the moment, but according to my sources not for long. The reason? Software issues (again). Orange will apparently start to offer half price contracts on their Satio units to try and shift what stock they have left. If this proves to be correct then it would be the second time that Satio has been taken off UK shelves and it might very well be the last …

X10 & Vivaz

The X10 has appeared on Carphone Warehouse’s internal system, although no stock exists for it and no prices have been setup yet. This usually means that the handset in question is around a month away, which would fit in with a late March/early April release. Coming sooner, apparently, is Vivaz, which has also appeared on Carphone Warehouse’s system. However, in the case of Vivaz pricing has been setup with the handset free on £25/month 2 year contracts. Given that pricing exists Vivaz could appear in stores as early as next week although a time-scale of 2 or 3 weeks is more likely.

keep in mind satio has NOT yet been pulled again from sales. until it has been dropped, its all just specualtion really!
(if it was made official in the last couple days then i may have missed it )

Posted by Rookwise
According to Scotsboy the inside source is apparently a Carphone Warehouse employee.

I'm not putting the Satio down at all. I have 2 Satio's and they're both great phones which I'll never see me part with for some time. Neither do I have any complaints about the Satio. The only thing I've mentioned is the phone rebooting occasionally. This is normal for Symbian AFAIK and I was used to it with the old UIQ Symbian phones as it was a known thing then.

Posted by >500
@rookwise
wasnt directed to only... but i understand what you mean and im sure there are some who dont have issues with their Satio.

Before some jump the gun and start bashing /satio, id thought id just make sure people are aware it hasn't officially been dropped as yet by CPW.

Yes an employee may have stated its on the cards, but before theres some official statement from CPW, then its all, again, speculation.
